Arsenal there for the taking atm, watched game against newcastle and for all their posession done nothing with it, lack leadership, discipline etc etc , really hopeful of a win if we can play like did in yesterday's first half.
Cheers for the optimism mate Have to admit I couldn't watch either match so i'l have to take your word for it. Sounds like one of those now typical arsenal performances where we have plenty of possession but no penetration. However I still feel it will be a draw next week because by then the transfer saga's may be over, meaning the players may feel less disheartened and also that we might have some good replacements for them (mata is my wish). Moreover our record against you at the Emirates is still strong and I imagine Daglish will be happy with a point. I think the match will follow the same pattern as last year, where for the majority of it you sit back and frustrate us. Doubt it will be a good game to be honest.
I can only talk about the game from our standpoint as I really don't know what's going on at your place. However, I doubt that we will be employing the same tactics as last year. Sorry to disappoint you but the media are reporting that Wenger has ended his interest in Mata. I've only really seen him during our pre-season with Valencia. Whilst he's got skill he didn't impress me that much.
I don't think it would be a good game either, but sometimes you don't notice this when a game is so tense unless you're a neutral. I think it will be tense as we are the two likely to be fighting for 4th this year according to pundits and journalists. It's a shame as I would rather see Arsenal in the top 4 over Manure, City or Chelsea, it could still happen I suppose.
Been a while since I've seen you on our boards! Welcome back.. Personally I think we'll win the next game. The first half against Sunderland was a master class in football, reminiscent of Liverpool of old but after the Sunderland goal it just went downhill and we lost fight. If we had Gerrard fit, then the second half wouldn't be nearly as bad and we would have run out winners. Your whole game was just.... messy. There was plenty of style on your side, but no substance and little in the way of goalscoring threats. It looked like your players didn't want to score and I think that's what will mean we will win it. Our defence can really only be broken down by wide passing, slipping throughout a tight gap of defenders and scoring. It's one thing you're just not good at capitalising on, you might be able to slip through defences, but bare in mind it takes just 1 second for our defenders to get back and stop you. If you don't take the shot when you've got the ball then be prepared to lose it. It should be a good game overall, but I see either a high scoring draw (2-2) or we run out victors (2-1 or 2-0).
Well Gervinho is out and by the looks of it Song could also be given a ban for that stamp on Barton. So next week could see Arsenal without Fab, Nasri, Song and Gervinho.
Looks like most of you expect liverpool to be more attacking this time then? I guess you know your own team better than I do . You're right Xabi it does look bad for us with that many players missing, however I can still hope that we sign somebody who will raise our level a bit. I can't remember a Wenger squad being this weak and the mood to be so low which makes this a very good opportunity for you to beat us. Stll think it will be a draw though, we will be too scared to commit too many men forward and end up just passing it in non-threatening positions so it might be up to you lot to take the initiative.
