If Walcott leaves because he wants £100k a week, why would he go to Liverpool? They don't pay those kind of wages do they?
Not to decent players like Walcott we dont, we reserve those wages for crocks like Joe Cole and Alberto Aquialni...lol really feeling for Arsenal fans at the moment, cant believe what it must have been like to see RVP go to United.....Saying that, i still think you will be ok, wiltshire will be back and he is a player who could make a group of donkeys tick.....(not saying thats what youve got!) cazorla looks very good and you have other good names and team players..... Looking forward to sunday, hopefully we can carry on our development and turn out another good performance. All the best....Hard times..
So what we paid players under previous owners and previous manager has a relation on what we pay now?? In fact we have tightened up significantly. Allen is on £40k and Sig went to Spurs because we weren't willing to pay above what Rodgers offered him at Swansea (£30k). Our biggest earners now will be Suarez and Gerrard (cerca £120k) and Agger (£80k), nothing compared to Man $hity
It's a myth we paid millions for him, the Echo (the most reliable source for Sahin's fees so far) says we have paid £2m + undisclosed % of wages and first refusal.
Krome, isn't Theo a Liverpool fan? If I wanted £100k a week but could only get 75 I'd rather get 75 from the club I support. Theo divides arsenal fans, you get the impression he thinks we don't love him as much as we should (I agree). Also I thought (dunno where I heard it) VP was his best mate at the club... I wouldn't be surprised if he's on his way out... I'd be upset but not surprised!
There is definitely a clear out in progress. It is a bit disruptive, but I'm not unhappy if he leaves. Walcott has had a better record than most people admit, but he is still not the player we hoped for and not in the 100K/week class. I wonder how many of these players leaving will have the success that they are hoping for. I think it is more likely that they will spend perhaps a year or two on the fringes of a trophy winning side, and then the rest of their career washed up in some foreign league somewhere.
Im not overly fussed by the clearout. We have been talking about change being needed at the club for years. All we have seen is tinkering around the edges. The group of players we had formed into a team just were not happening. It is clear to the players leaving that its just not working. The carling cup fiasco was a clear sign of this. We should have destroyed birmingham but there was just no desire there to get that silver despite being without for years. LETS build from almost scratch and see what happens. It cant be any worse than it has been , can it ?
Ok, this is an interesting development and one I did not expect. I assuming that for the club to do this, they are confident that Walcott does indeed want to stay and they think they can give him the right offer after the transfer window closes, because the risk of losing him on a free is huge and one that the club will not take lightly.
You must hate your own post then. They reported that he's not signing a new contract at this time. What I posted was correct. So politely FU.
They'll probably try to wrap it up by January, or sell him to a desperate club that is in crisis (say Liverpool is 9th by Christmas ) for decent money.
