It's not so much interpretation, he's answering a question about the lack of success by saying "but hey, we're pretty consistent right?". I'd be fuming if my club went from being regular trophy winners to winning nothing without so much as a fighting word said.

Not every team should be winning trophies though. We've been in the top 5 teams far too long to only have two fa cup semi finals to show for it and you've certainly been in the top 4 far too long to only have a League Cup runners up medal to show for it in 7 seasons. It's a defeatist attitude to accept that so happily.

Bragging rights is a minor part of it though, do you remember Arsenal winning the league last and thinking "up yours Spurs"? If you did then you must hate Spurs more than you love Arsenal.
