Don't think this was plan A Stereo. Given the team selection, obviously this match was the least of the important games that is coming up. The game Saturday and then next week is far more important, even though this was the FA Cup.

Agree. Better to rest up and resist injury.

What's happened to Dyer lately? Bad passes, falls easily, no sign of his speed... With that said, we've played poorly all through second half (didn't see the first). Nobody willing to go forward, just passing the ball in defense till we lose the ball. I don't like what I've seen the last few matches. Did Michu touch the ball even once?

Edit: Glad to see Jazz finally get some gametime. We also need a matchfit Kyle so good for him to get some gametime too..

This loss was a blessing in disguise I think.

Chico and the defending great, the rest was piss poor Dyers lost form almost totaly , passings gone the same way couldnt keep the ball for more than a few passes and attack was almost non existant ! they better buck up quick with all the games we got. But other than that its all still good.

..but this is how we play every game now isn't it. Can't remember when we last played differently. This was the same performance as against Spurs, Fulham, Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton. Always poxy in the second half - backs to the wall with crap passing.

I do agree this was the least important of the games and I'm not heartbroken that we are out.
Hopefully we will play a bit more positive on the weekend before we play tonights plan again against Cheslea next week. If we try it again against them I think they will murder us.

ball retention was appalling in the 2nd half - Laudrup needs to be working on keeping the ball when we are under pressure, we gifted it to Arsenal to keep coming back at us - not too bothered about losing in this competition but the manner in which we lost really galls me.

But how many points did we pick up in these games? This system has worked for us during the past couple of weeks.

....that was my point - it's now our Plan A. Plan B is for when the other team allows us to play.

I pretty much agree with this - weve ridden our luck against all those teams and if we play the same way against Chelsea we could easily blow it. Laudrup needs to rethink our tactics and work on keeping the ball better - hopefully against Stoke we ll see a more offensive strategy

Just want to say having seen a lot of you this season you are a very very good team a credit to the premiership
Almost always a cracking game between us
Good luck against the Chavs and good luck for the rest of the season

I'd like to think that tonights game was a token gesture in the greater scheme of things to come but very poor second half , I really thought we could win this tonight but Arsenal did everything that we couldn't ,the players seemed at times not know what their team mate was going to do , the little procession in the 2nd half we had we gave away cheaply.

1st half - great defending and we came close (undeservedly). Second half we were as bad as Arsenal were good. The only time I've seen a blue goalkeeper as Sczezny almost passed out from hyperthermia. Nobody made any runs to speak off and we resorted to long balls most of the time.

Dyer - I was absolutely gobsmacked by him tonight. Truly awful. Couldn't tackle, couldn't trap the ball, couldn't keep the ball, couldn't pass the ball, couldn't run with the ball....and it's not just this game either. I've loved him since he joined us but he needs to sort himself out or **** off. He may as well not be on the pitch at the moment.

A terrible display 2nd half tonight but as others have said we can now concentrate on the League and the other cup.

sorry laudrup got the team selection all wrong tonight....I would have been embarrassed if we had won that.
    Arsen 1 V 0 laudrup....Very poor all around...hereford could have beaten us.....

Not sure bout that Dai. You have to rotate the team with all the fixtures we've ahd and will have. Remember it was our regulars who were poor as well.

Tactics and substitutions did not work well for us and I think the team all felt it would be nice to win but they all want to win on Saturday and against Chelsea. They were not up or it.
