Stephens is the worst defender by far under Ralph. He has cost us 3 points in the last 2 games alone. Also, Maya, Vestergaard and Bednarek work the best together. All 3 were brilliant at Chelsea.

 

If defences keep you up and strikers win titles, do midfields get you in midtable?

Oh if only life (and football analysis) were that simple. If it was we could equally say McCarthy is the worst player ever to wear a Saints shirt as he was reponsible for nearly all the goals we have conceded.

Agreed those three were brilliant against Chelsea - but then so was the whole team!

An outsiders perspective on Arsenal. They are head and shoulders above us in quality players but they are not in great form.

We've shown already that we can beat them, off the back of getting beat by Borisov whatever we are going there at a good time. I'm thinking we will get something out of this game and it might not be a hiding.

 

Presumably they'll have to put a half decent side out tonight, can't really afford to rest many affter losing the away leg.

You would think so and Emery will take it seriously you'd expect too. Isn't Lacazette banned? Which means Aubamayang should play at least.

Depending on whether the teams score more goals than above, then it will be 4-0, 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 0-4, 1-4, 2-4, 3-4, or 4-4.

I'm rarely wrong when it comes to things like this.

Not really. He gave away a stupid penalty and he gave the ball away stupidly for Cardiff's winner.

 

The penalty wasn’t quite as stupid as you make out. Next time we’re together, I’ll stand behind you and ask you to jump from a standing position. I’ll pull you downwards as you leap up. I bet you use arms to elevate yourself and I bet me pulling you down makes your arm go high.

He could have been stronger and he probably made a mistake, but it isn’t as clear cut a feck up as you are making out.

I presume therefore you've changed your view on Hoedt? In our clean sheets this season under Hughes, Hoedt was the constant factor.

Apparently when we keep clean sheets with Stephens, it means something in connection to his ability. But not with the ones we keep with Hoedt?
