I've missed that I don't disagree with you Tom that Stephens panicked and hauled down the Arsenal player, or that Yoshida could have started this game. BUT if we are looking at that goal in isolation, it was not Stephens that left the man at the back post unmarked, nor was it Stephens who switched off and left Lacazette unmarked in the middle. Be careful not to only see the things you want to see, but to see the full picture
The whole "play stops with a head injury" thing remains inconsistent. If a player faceplants on the ground and then just lays there spread-eagle for a full minute, YOU STOP PLAY.
Yes it was, but it was also poor from gunn. Poor defensively all round. But that doesnt suit the narrative.
