i was hoping they'd get billy whitehurst in to frighten some of the excess tons off ruddock. i spent ages looking at rob lee and thinking "who the hell is that?" then again i didn't use to watch england much. it was always boring and 2-0, even going back as far as joe mercer (bloody fa twats, ignoring clough). there was some fullback i'd never heard of even after 90-odd matches for england (him, not me).

I couldn't believe Matt Le Tissier only ever got 8 England caps - shows that we had real quality back in them days to choose from , now people get caps before they even make the first team
