I'm English and I'm not a weird hipster. I've just never, ever been interested in the England football team and anyone who chooses country over club is ****ing weird in my eyes.

I only watched 1 game at the Euros last year and that was cos work put it on vs Wales and it was better than doing my normal stuff. I remember decorating ahead of watching vs Iceland. I've also been to one competitive game in my life and that was only cos it was the last one at Wembley, and it was still probably my most boring day of watching live football.

    BCC supports Italy anyways.

If I had to choose between City winning a Cup and England winning the World Cup, England every time.

Barely anyone does, but you can support your club and your country, in fact, most people do.

I don't have a problem with that, but it's City for me.

It's an incredibly hard choice. If it was a PL title rather than a cup, I'd say City.

    No I don't.

And I couldn't disagree more. If I had to choose between City winning on Saturday and England wining the World Cup, it would be City every time.

You'd actually have to debate that as a tough choice?!? <yikes>

Yes I would, as I give a **** about my national team. Apologies if that somehow bothers you. Now bugger off. <ok>

It doesn't bother me in the slightest, why would it bother me? You mean nothing to me. I questioned it cos I'm just absolutely ****ing amazed.

And you're the one who mentioned me in a post, I didn't mention you, so asking me to 'bugger off' for replying is a bit ****ish.

    Absolutely.

Look at Gibbs at Arsenal, a truly dreadful player.

Utter dog ****, if he was at an established mit table PL side he's struggle to get a game.

Regular in the England squad and has 10 caps.

It's all wrong but it won't change, that's part of the reason we are so poor as a National team.

    In my opinion.

When I was in the Army there were loads of Mancs and Scousers who would actually want England to lose.

Some were plastic Paddies and some just tried too hard at this 'club over country' malarkey.

If you don't follow England then fair enough but FFS don't try and get high and mighty about it.

It does not make you a superior City fan.

    It really doesn't.

    In my opinion.

City winning anything comes way ahead of England winning anything for me, as I'm sure it will for most City fans.

If City won the Premier League I'd cream my kegs for a year*, if England won they World Cup I might say "that's nice" and then flip the tv back to The World At War.

    * I certainly wouldn't be asking for the manager to be sacked if we were in the bottom five eight months later.

I'd trade England being disbanded, dashed and to never to play again just for City to stay up never mind to win a trophy.

    No comparison.

I genuinely don't get this 'football hipster' thing.

Are there some people who believe that they trade in some sort of 'cool' with football?

Unless you're mega rich or famous from it, football's hardly gonna help you impress the girls is it?

Yeah, me neither. I've never changed my opinions on football due to a perceived trend.

I liked Italian football when it was generally perceived as the best league in the world in the early 90s with most of the best players, I still like it now when it's hardly talked about and has few superstars. Similarly I hated tika-takka when every **** in the world ****ed themselves into oblivion about it and I still hate it now.

I'd have to think twice if someone offered England to win the world cup instead of our season last year. Not joking either.

Wait, there were English soldiers who swore an oath of allegiance to Her Maj and disliked England so much they wanted them to lose? Lmao.

Perhaps the Scousers thought they were hopping on a ferry to Dublin and accidentally joined the wrong army.
