As I understand it , Lima will be playing with our youth set up to assess & possibly be introduced to the first team depending on how good he is or injuries in those positions he plays.

At the end of the season he will have a year left on his contract & depending on how the loan move goes & our status as a Premier league or Championship club negotiations may begin.

Try before you buy sort of thing

That would make sense and Sara could be the ideal mentor for him. At 20, he's a year older than Fisher who has gone straight into the first team. If you're good enough, you're old enough.

    It's official now:

We loaned a Brazilian kid to keep Sara company last season , maybe one of Webber's legacies along with our incredible academy infrastructure is a steady flow of Brazilian talent being sent over from our ties to Coritiba ?

Seems a bit risky, if for instance he was a big hit, the purchase price could be big and we would have opened up competition for his signature.

However, on the flip side it’s a move that makes financial sense in the immediate, as we won’t have made a massive outlay on a risky transfer like the Tzolis deal.

There is probably a gentleman style agreement in place & as you say , shelling out €10m for young players with potential like Tzolis spectacularly failed .

I liked Brandon, but we already have 3 LBs and Montóia now as well.

According to the Pinkun, a permanent signing could be possible if things work out both ways:

"The 20-year-old will link up with the club's development setup initially, after following Marcelino Nunez and Gabby Sara from South America. Norwich do not have a buy option but aim to run the rule over Lima with a view to exploring a potential permanent move next summer. The youngster saw a proposed loan, with a buy option, to Portuguese second tier club Academico de Viseu shelved earlier this summer following a fan backlash over the proposed move."

According to NCFC Digital on X we are still waiting for a work permit for Thalisson, the young CB from Coritiba. Why could this one be taking so long?

Good question. At 21, though, he's not so young. Presumably the club is chasing this.

With Montoia, Thalisson and now Lima, I'm curious as to which visa pathway we're using. I think we have 3 exceptions to the visa points scheme? Have we used all three on this trio, in which case why the holdup with Thalisson and not the others, or is Thalisson dependent on the new scheme, and that explains the delay?

Out of knowhere we sign Adam Forshaw, I thought this would be a good signing earlier in the window but assumed he’d been picked up. Has had injury problems recently but a good player on his day, 1 year deal with an option is minimal risk, adds a bit of experience to the midfield options.
This does make me wonder about Gibbs though, he’s not made it off the bench in the league that I can recall and only got 60mins in the cup?

Forshaw feels better equipped to replace McLean when he needs a rest

Think that's right, as Núñez provides a natural backup for Sara, but Forshaw could also be seen as a possible sub for Barnes, playing as an AM when we're closing out games. Given his injury record, though, it's a bit of a gamble, thus the one year contract with an option.

Surprisingly Gibbs is still only 20 and learning the game. His midfield versatility from AM back to DM makes that an even steeper learning curve. Wagner certainly values experience and the good decision making that comes along with it and that is very much the difference this season.
