We have to be tough on this one. His performances last season showed his importance to us. I would be very unhappy at anything less than €15m. I hope our South American scouts have been busy unearthing the next Buendia, Sara, Nunez for us.
I believe that Paddy Davitt is reporting that Ken Aboh has reached agreement with the club on a new contract.
Not official yet, but Davitt saying it's looking likely: "By all accounts, the parties are on the same page. It's agreed but in terms of maybe the paperwork elements it might be next week, onwards, that it is actually confirmed. But unless there's been an 11th hour curveball then Ken Aboh will be a Norwich player moving forward, which is great news because, again, it chimes with what Thorup and Knapper are trying to do and develop their own. By a long stretch he looked probably the best of the development crop last season. Of course, there's the imponderables around can they step up and can handle it? And with that in mind, I think you'd probably would feel they would look to get out on loan, maybe in an Abu Kamara or Brad Hills style of picking the right loan at the right level of the Football League. Then we'll see. But he looks like he's out-grown development, football. Not just the goals he scored, but also how he carried himself on the pitch. You referenced that Old Trafford game and he just looked a cut above really in terms of that grade of football. So get him out on loan this coming season and then in 12 months he might be in the situation Abu Kamara is in coming back from a very successful loan. I think that would be the roadmap with Ken Aboh. By all accounts, Norwich have really shown a commitment to him in terms of the deal offered, as good a deal as he could get at this stage of his career. It's good from his point of view, for me, that he maybe sees in Thorup a coach creating an environment where he will get a chance. He might have to go out and prove himself first on loan, but he would know there is a pathway to the Norwich first team. If you're a young player at Norwich now, you must feel under this management, you'll get an opportunity." Paddy also confirmed that the clause included in the sale of Tzolis is 10% of the value of the next sale, there is also currently a £6m release clause which will expire soon
If Trabzonspor think £5m is too much for Núñez I think we can forget about this one. We paid £3.9m for him. https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-make-first-bid-norwich-man-talks-opened-price-needs-come/
Very short on rumours and speculation this window. Never seen such scarcity of posts and blogs on NewsNow. We will have to start making some up ourselves of this goes on.
Actually they say that Citys value for Nunez is €5m, which is a load of rubbish as that is only just a little more than we paid. I would guess that we have ignored this and not responded to any speculative offer.
I suspect that they just copied that from TransferMarkt's base valuation of £5m. At 24 with two successful seasons in the Championship his true value is likely to be at least twice that.
I think the blogs are now doing that as they copy and paste old rumours about 29 year old Jamal Lowe from Bournemouth, ignoring his high PL wages and Knapper's aim to lower the squad's average age. Apparently Leicester want to bring in Andy Hughes as their set piece specialist, which is more likely. Finally a third rumour, Moussa Diarra from Toulouse, would sound likely if we hadn't already signed Córdoba: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/w...ropean-clubs-in-transfer-pursuit-of-defender/
Moussa Diarra can play LB by the looks of it, so maybe there's a place for him in the squad along with Cordoba. A free signing 23 year old left sided CB with top flight experience feels like the kind of player you strongly consider finding room in a squad for, regardless of the strength of his competition.
Moussa Diarra was one of five Ligue 1 players who refused to play in the match between Toulouse and Nantes in May of last year, citing religious objections to being required to wear shirts with rainbow-coloured numbers. Given City's uncompromising stand against all forms of discrimination, it seems unlikely that either City or the player would be interested in pursuing a deal.
This might also be a blog spinoff from our interest in Córdoba. I doubt there's anything in this, especially considering Robbie's point.
Scott McKenna, 27 year old left sided CB playing for Scotland tonight, and is a free agent having left Nottingham Forest. Clearly unwanted there as he spent a lot of the season in Denmark on loan with Copenhagen. Played a fair amount for Forest before that in both Championship and Premier League. Maybe high wage demands, but curious to see where he ends up.
Pink-Un (take source with a large swizz of salt) report that Trabzonspor president has submitted are in talks to sign Nunez & have submitted new bid https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwic...por-president-confirms-marcelino-nunez-talks/ If we can get around £8-10m then I'd take that
Apart from being a boyhood Rangers fan, can anyone think of a single reason why Kenny would want to leave Norwich at this particular point in his career, for Rangers or any other club?
