I know there's a lot of interest in Armstrong at Bristol and i thought it might be worth having a thread in which we can discuss the career of our ex-striker.

As much as it pains me to write this, he's got off to a cracking start scoring two goals in his first two starts. This is the same as he scored all season for us last year which is typical - especially since we still can't get the ball in the net ourselves.

Have we made an error in letting him go? I still think we got an amazing deal to sell him off considering his performances for us and the fact that he had only one year of his deal left to run - but it pains me to see him banging them in whenwe still have Dykes who couldn't hit a barn door from 5 yards out.

Let's hope Armstrong has had his flourish this season and once he starts playing in the Championship, normal business is resumed.

Don't think we had any choice tbh

I'm not sure we need an Armstrong thread.

However, I am always interested in our 'ex' players and how they progress especially younger ones with potential.

There has been plenty of mention to numerous players Wells, Austin etc..Without any I'll feeling and I don't know why we should treat Armstrong any differently.

because he was a waste of space and beyond useless

My feeling entirely.
However good he was/is/will be, he always gave his all and wore the shirt with pride.

For me he is part of the QPR family and I will look out for him and wish him all the best when not playing us.

He had moments. Was really unlucky early in the season playing well then didn’t kick on. Had a lovely assist for Paal at Cardiff and bullied Ipswich that game where he hit both posts. The goal in the cup was beautiful. Just tried to re-create it 100 times without getting close but feels like a player who it could click for at some point. That or he’ll be playing Sunday league in five years.
