1. What team do you support? Chelsea 2. Are you a season ticket holder/how much did it cost? Not anymore, too expensive, would rather spend the money on my kids 3. Do you actually go to games or watch only via TV? I go to the occasional away game with my cousin, went to an FA Cup game last season 4. If a non season ticket holder, how many home games have you attended this season? Zero, haven't watched a game at the Bridge in years, too expensive 5. Cost of a match day ticket when you do attend and is that the cheapest available for adults? I mainly go to away games so it varies a great deal, but last one was around £26 6. Rough cost overall that you pay for match day entertainment (ticket, food, drink, transport)? £40 maybe 7. If you support a Prem team, do you go to watch any lower league teams (Whom and cost per game)? MK Dons, their stadium is on my door step and it costs £10, plus they are a new club with a 35,000 capacity stadium and no fanbase, so getting a ticket is never a problem. 8. What's the lowest league position you have ever watched your team play? 14th, back in the day under Hoddle. 9. When was the last time you attended your team's ground to watch them play and who were you playing? I think it was 1999 or 2000, West Ham, we lost 0-1, ****ing Paul Kitson , that or a game against Leeds when we lost 0-2, can't remember which one was last. 10. How did you come about supporting your team? My dad, Uncles and all my cousins support Chelsea, my family is from Battersea.
Exactly. One of the things we are trying to avoid down in the lower leagues is the inclusion of B Teams. They're trying it on at the moment via the back door of the paint pot trophy or whatever it's called. There has been a call for a boycott of all games where you get drawn against a B Team. I'm not sure how successful that call has been, especially as the paint pot is not a well supported trophy anyway. An article from a couple of seasons back...https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...es-attendances-fall-as-the-bteamboycott-bites
agreed. That B team **** is taking the piss, we've never had it and we shouldn't ever have it. Maybe the top clubs will then loan their players out more or stop stockpiling them (chelsea included).
Yeah I knew about that, the concern being that it’ll be the thin end of the wedge and they’ll end up wanting their B teams in the league pyramid, like it is is Spain. The experiment has failed I think as it’s had little interest and most of the B teams have done **** all in the comp as far as I’m aware. The loan system is better for young PL players anyway as it gives them a grounding. Some of these kids are ****ing millionaires without having started a PL game ffs, what is that all about? They go out on loan and the lower league clubs can’t even afford to play these kids wages! It’s absolute madness
Channel 4 for some live and all highlights , but they are DIRE IMHO . Wish the BBC had kept it apart from that " Look at me i'm Suzie Perry " Bint . Though she knows her stuff when it comes to bikes !
It started off as an idea by Greg Dyke (B Teams) in 2014, rightly as you say founded on the Spanish system. Thankfully the EFL clubs rejected it, hence why they are attempting to come in via the Paint Trophy and supporters are boycotting it. They want to increase the Leagues to include 8 National League Teams, that bit i do agree with. I would like to see a North / South devide for League Two (old div 4) and the National League combined OR to make more teams from the NL auto promoted ie from 1 to 2 at least along side the new play-off system introduced this season for the NL.
1. What team do you support? Southampton 2. Are you a season ticket holder/how much did it cost? No 3. Do you actually go to games or watch only via TV? Not been this season, only went a couple of times last year 4. If a non season ticket holder, how many home games have you attended this season? none 5. Cost of a match day ticket when you do attend and is that the cheapest available for adults? About £40 6. Rough cost overall that you pay for match day entertainment (ticket, food, drink, transport)? Depending how I choose to get there either about £70 or around £200 7. If you support a Prem team, do you go to watch any lower league teams (Whom and cost per game)? Been to a few Bristol City games this year, tickets are around £30 8. What's the lowest league position you have ever watched your team play? League One, minus 10 9. When was the last time you attended your team's ground to watch them play and who were you playing? Last season, against Palace 10. How did you come about supporting your team? Dad does and took me to a few games when I was younger so cursed me that way. Virtually everyone I know supports one of the big clubs so I would most likely have followed suit if not for my Dad.
Mostly armchair nowadays as I live in Spain. I do go to watch the local footie team play with some friends - both English and Spanish - that’s a good afternoon with a few beers. Support the nearest local Rugby club, of which I’m a member. Still help out there from time to time with a bit of coaching too.
Not sure what you’re referring too there mate. If it’s the Rugby, it’s not a huge sport here. Although it is rapidly gaining popularity.
No . Just my attempt at humour . Now suffering is Shetland , as opposed to now suffering in Spain . Move on , really nothing to see here
**** answering all those questions. Keep it short @brb , for fuxakes. Anyway, I agree the PL is a ****ing obscenity catering mostly to a new breed of supporters who have lots of money but little heart; them and the TV audiences are all the matters. That said, it still HURTS LIKE **** getting relegated. I'll get over it though. My best experiences as a Saints fan since the early 70's have pretty much all been outside the top division - starting with 76.
