Almost missed it. Just saw the end as Cape Blanco sailed to victory.

I felt Hayley Turner rode an equally impressive and poor race, really impressive getting a position from a bad draw but if you watch from that position when Spencer kicked on all she needed to do was follow him through but decided to sit still. She then got swamped by the horses behind her and had to fight for a run. I think when she watches that she will be disappointed as could have finished much closer. I really wanted her to win as would have been such a follow on from the July Cup.

Spencer superb though, he may well have been on the best horse but he made sure it won comfortably with a no nonsense quality ride.

Agreed Bluesky, it was a quality ride from Spencer (what I saw of it) wasn't able to replay the race so unable to comment on Hayley.

I think we've just seen from tonight's racing in Arlington just how poor American racing is. Well done to the 3 European winners, I had a dabble on Cape Blanco at 3.4 to recoup my losses on Arsenal earlier, so I was very pleased to see how easy he won.

To be honest Cape Blanco and Treasure Beach are both G1 winners in Europe so it would have been like running in a listed race without a penalty to them. It's such a low level of competition out there yet the prize money's fantastic, so I can understand why european owners would send horse's out there

Just in case there was any doubt:

When asked if a Grade One success in America was important for the horse, Coolmore representative Charlie O'Connor said: "Absolutely. Being a son of Galileo that is the goal, to make these horses stallions.

Cape Blanco is only running in these American races because Coolmoore have so many top middle distance horse's in Europe, if he was to compete in 10f races in Europe, like the POW, Eclipse, Juddmonte and Irish Champion. He would be taking on So You Think and Await The Dawn. Coolmoore clearly don't want there horses to compete against each other, so they've sent Cape Blanco abroad. For what it's worth I think Cape Blanco would have a fair chance of beating either SYT or ATD, but we probably will never get to see any of them clash:biggrin:
