I'm with you on this; I think the Joe's are having to do TOO much. If you put Bruno in for a match, particularly this one vs Brentford, we could/should be better still.
I still believe Howe intends to drop willock... It won't be jonjo unless he gets suspended or injured.
That's my fear too. It's been Willock making way for Bruno when he does finally come on. It's like Eddie is looking for him to have a bad game, but the lad is working his nuts off. I'd rather see Shelvey get injured/suspended to help make rhe decision for him.
He's just playing well for me - he was good again against West Ham and worked hard. I can't do him down just because I don't like him, I just go on what my eyes tell me rather than emotion. Issues arising from Saturday for me were - Krafth despite him doing far better than expected overall, gave a stupid free kick away which was costly. Dawson I think was Schar or Wood's man on the dead balls, terrible defending. Schar was also lucky to get away with a stupid foul and confirmed he will always present us with this problem. Wood was poor and we don't have enough options when that happens. Murphy is a **** hawk who produces one cross in 70. Other than that I couldn't really fault the rest. They all worked hard and were good with the ball. It'll drop off or sending off will come with Shelvey. Leopards don't change their spots. Once Bruno gets in, he'll never get back in unless one of those three get a knock or suspended. They're much better than him and much more consistent. Regardless I think I'll just leave it to Eddie as he clearly knows what he's doing.
They still say that in training Shelvey is by far the best technical passer of the ball. I do wonder how the midfield might operate swapping in Bruno for him mind. Will it happen? No chance.
You can't at present, its poor management if you do because you'll upset more than just Shelvey. Three guys with the shirts deserve to play. Bruno's time will come, I'm convinced Shelvey won't be able to maintain. It would go against everything his career tells us and what we've witnessed since he arrived here. At 29 you don't suddenly decide to be a grafter, not get sent off or be consistent. That **** is in him waiting to come out. I'd love to be wrong because he clearly does have some ability, but I think we will be moving on in the summer personally. The only things that makes me want to drop him at presents is he's not particularly likeable, and if it is a sending off that presents Bruno with the opportunity, that hurts the side.
Schar has been very good im not sure why you're after him. Shelvey has been the worst of the 3.. He had nothing other than slow floaty passes and he's allowed to hide in the spaces Joelinton and willock provide.... Still zero assists You could put Bruno in there and he'll actually hurt the opposition with passes One of 3 will be dropped and it won't be shelvey.
He has played well and certainly not after him at all. I just judge on a game by game basis, then look at consistency over a season. I think he's a good option in the squad and I'd start him at present with Burn because he's the best we have. However that stupid push on Saturday gets checked on VAR, we get beat - its that simple. Its just the way he is, he has an erratic side to his game. Like the shocker of a game he threw in against Everton, just came out of nowhere against his current form. If Dawson was his man (I suspect it was Wood's actually), then it was terrible defending. Again just pointing out something Stevie Wonder can see. If we want to progress he'll need replaced in the summer with better though. But then that is most of the squad.
I agree in the main. However I don’t know who should have tracked Dawson as he ran from deep. He did however end up with Krafth next to him on his knees. Schars shove was a penalty for me aswell.
It'll be whoever has a bad game first I would suspect. Eddie seems very very fair in this regard. People keep trying to second guess him, they appear to be waiting to jump on him. Its like the Lascelles situation, I knew he wouldn't drop Schar or Burn, he couldn't, it would have been ridiculous. However you read on here or any of the social media, it was all "Lascelles will play regardless". He basically runs it like a proper football team, possession of the shirt is key, perform and you're fine. Don't and someone might get your shirt. I don't have any problem at all with this regardless who I like or dislike.
They all have designated players, I think Dawson was Wood's or one of the two centre backs. It would make sense because he's a massive threat from set pieces so you'd want your best guys aerially on him. I suspect Wood but I didn't pay enough attention throughout the game who was picking him up on dead balls. Pen all day, very blatant. But it was about time things went our way.
It’s one of them where if it was the other way I would have wanted a penalty. It was a push. Not a shoulder barge.
At what point does Bruno start getting pissed off with getting 5-6 mins here and there…..I’m guessing he’s way off the pace in training or Eddie doesn’t want to break up a team doing well, which is fair but surely this lad will be getting a bit peeved if doesn’t start getting more game time
Soon lol I'd imagine he already is but I think Howe's right not to drop players if they're playing well. The players need to trust him and of he says one thing then does another it'll lead to him losing bonds
