I half agree with this, but I'm left wondering what happened to the excellent deliveries which meant we had the highest % of headed goals last season? Pilks appears to have overnight become incapable of a decent delivery, and Snoddy doesn't appear to be fairing any better. Simply sorting that issue out could give us another 4 or 5 reasonable chances per game!

Garrido has put in some amazing crosses as well as Snodgrass from freekicks.

Morison scored quite a lot of the headed goals I remember. Going to have to disagree with the crossing it's the one thing about our team that annoys me when we attack, we cross too often it begins to become predictable, anything that deters us from crossing the ball as it makes us a one dimensional team.

What happened to through balls? neat little passes? the wide players cutting in and passing the ball across the box?

Agreed but there seems to have been a lot of poor ones too recently. That's all I'm saying - more of a nice to have. A striker is probably more important

But what is the point of crossing when there is only one man there to receive it. I would would like to see more attempts from Hoolahoops and co from outside the box. 18 yards isn't too far out as Gardner, Rose and Johnson proved on Sunday. We either try to walk it in or hit a poor cross to no-one in particular.
And that has nothing to do with the Manager's style of play.

I have to admit that after the first 7 matches, I was a bit worried that the transition from Lambert to Hughton (whose appointment I applauded) might take too long. Yes, there was the draw away at White Hart Lane and those against QPR and West Ham at home when City were the better team, but 3 points wasn’t much from 7 games in an unforgiving league. Bassong returned from injury and Tettey came into the team and a solidity that Lambert seldom achieved was evident. City are where they are on merit and they have Chris Hughton and all the players to thank for that. Holt is also at the heart of that as captain, and yes he isn't getting as many chances but he will score more. Pilks and Snodgrass upped their game against Sunderland and had a part in both goals. I think the goals will come, just not at the price of defensive frailty.
