Apologies to sensible for stealing his thunder by starting this match day thread....not sure if sensible see's this as a serious game. So an early kick off at 12.30....some of you might be watching this on ifollow at £10 ahead....I certainly won't....it's supposed to be.. being done with only one camera and BBC Devon commentary only....also this game is unobtainable outside the UK.....so a lot of greens will not be able to get it....including our very own BC who lives amongst the bears in Vancouver Canada.....so he will be disappointed...although secretly pleased because he would have to be up at 0430 hrs....and I know he has trouble making the normal 1500 hrs at 0700 hrs. So will Ryan Lowe know his best team...or will he be still experimenting to find his best eleven....okay we know he is a striker short because of Luke Jephcott being on duty with Wales U21's ..v...Bosnia Herzegovina .....I hear he got ten minutes in a 1-0 defeat. It will be interesting to see what goalkeeper sub will be on the bench Ruddy or Coombes......up front he will probably go with Hardie and Nouble and surely we will see the return of George Cooper....plus starts for Watts, Macleod...maybe Camara and Reeves....only Lowe will know. I think Panutche Camara could be a really good investment linking up with Danny Mayor....I'm hoping that Mayor will score more goals this time around....okay he did good work but he got nowhere near as many goals as he scored the season before for Bury. So hopefully we're getting nearer to some fans returning to Home Park.....just a little worried that new Covid19 cases are nearly reaching 2000 a day....now that might shut down football altogether if it keeps on rising like that.....some people don't realize that the rules include them as well.
League Cup it may be but I'll be watching, technology permitting. I'm just cleaning the cobwebs off my daughter's laptop now. She's been badly bitten by the Apple bug and I'll be bitten too shortly when I have to buy her the long awaited 5G iPhone. Such are my levels of optimism for this season (not that I think we'll be promoted or at least, I'm not going to tempt fate by saying so) that I just can't resist seeing the side he puts out. I can afford it too, normally by now I'd have bought 4 Flexi tickets, so I'm quids in!
So Coombes is on the bench as replacement keeper ? M Cooper, Wootton, Aimson, Watts, Edwards, Grant, MacLeod, Mayor, G Cooper, Hardie, Nouble. Subs Canavan, Telford, Lolos, Randell, Law, Camara & Coombes.
Conceded a corner in QPR's 1st possession from the kick off and a goal from that. Poor. Two good attempts for PAFC since though.
QPR had the early momentum but Argyle giving them as many defensive problems as they are giving us. No huge gulf in class.
Argyle win the ball in their final third and sweep it up to other end to score a great team goal. 1-1.
McLeod fluffs his shot after Argyle again dispossess QPR and then sweep it up to the other end. QPR are stretching Argyle's defence but Argyle are doing the same at the other end.
Aimson breaks down Argyle's right like a winger but QPR then exploit the space he left. Full marks for ambition but risky against a Championship side. It's the Ryan Lowe way!
Noble pushed over when going away from goal. Free kick loops directly into the net but the ref disallows it for some unknown reason. Possibly offside but as no Argyle player touched it on the way in........
1-1...H/T....QPR have more possession....but Argyle have had more shots on goal......satisfactory half...seeing we were 0-1 after 2 minutes.
Nouble strong as an ox down the right, manages to whip the ball right across under the bar, falls to Cooper on the left who lays it back to Mayor. Cuts inside and shoots home. 2-1.
Poor defending by Argle as QPR equalise immediately. Argyle need to clear the heads: looking a bit shell-shocked by that.
