Second trialist on fir Mayor is suspected to be Ben Reeves, free agent after leaving MK Don's. Ex Charlton, 2 caps for Northern Ireland.
And is so far very bright. One-two with Telford gives him a shot just wide. Disposses a defender on the edge of the box, here there and everywhere.
Rather underwhelming in the first half I thought. Thirty minutes had passed before we made a chance. McLeod stood out, always available, always involved, tidy passing, terrific in that centre midfield role. We got the ball to Hardie in a bit of space just the once but the outcome of that was inevitable. Goal, he just did what he does. We are clearly going to play it out from the back. Finger nails will be in short supply. Lowe didn't make substitutions until well into the second half. Does that mean that's looking like his starting line up? Ironically we looked strongest in the last 20 minutes. Was that due to relative fitness at this time of the season or the substitutions? Ryan Lowe has confirmed that the second trialist was Ben Reeves. I thought he looked excellent, albeit in a brief outing. Finally, what a goal from Jephcott!!
Ben Reeves looked chirpy....didn't he score against us for Middlesboro on Thursday ?.....so a 2-1 win Hardie and Jephcott scoring the goals. Things brightened up when Panutche Camera came on and did well to set up Jephcott's goal....the mans got pace to spare....noticeable pace as well down the left flank. It was noticeable that FGR controlled large portions of the game and Cooper had more to do in goal than the Rovers keeper. Need to be more assured in attack, not enough shots at goal....it is noticeable that Lowe has definately brought in more height and pace into the team. More games required before the League starts....we have no more friendlies lined up....we'll have to use the Cup competitions to give us better fitness levels.
