It's not obligatory to hate another team or manager or player, is it?

    Good. I'm not buying.

Oh come on CF... Adrian Heath, 1984 and all that. There must be a little upturning of the lip when that gets mentioned.

Strangely I have an irrational hatred of Matt Taylor. I can't think why. Oh wait, he shoved Billy Sharp in the face which caused Fat Sam and all the WHU fans on KUMB to imply he was a cheat. And the fact that he's an ex-skate seals the deal. :)

How about this one then..? A friend of mine has an inherent hatred of the Windows OS. Now I can think of plenty of reasons why one wouldn't be keen on it, but he talks about Linux like it's the saviour of computers, and Windows like it's the bloody devil. Now I use both Operating Systems, and I've used Apple OS in the past, and if I want to get anything really super important done I use Windows and if I want to screw around with the computer or do something a bit obscure I use Linux Mint 11. Both are very good at what they do and crap at other times.

What is this football style rivalry with computer systems. I don't give a monkey's myself. I use the one that works best for me at the time I want to use it. That might be Windows or it might be Linux [it isn't likely to be an Apple OS, as I don't have a Mac anymore], but this our side or their side crap gets a bit wearing.

Oh, ok. I know realise that I should bear a grudge for a goal scored 29 years ago.
    Nah, it's still no.

I'd need convincing too. From any footballing era, I don't hate anybody. There are footballing people I'm not that keen on, because they were nasty pieces of work, but nothing worth concentrating on. I couldn't bear a grudge in football if I tried.

Fully agree. A positively nasty piece of work and nothing irrational about it at all.

I can still do the chant today and the very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov will join in as she feels the same way.

We always listen to the shipping forecast on Radio 4 before we go to sleep and when they say Rockall, Malin, Hebrides, Bailey we burst into song with:.

We hate Bailey and we hate Bailey. We are the Bailey haters.

and when they say Shannon everyone also knows the song we sing.

I just love this version of the Shipping Forecast.

Alright, If I really had to think about a player from the past who I disliked it would be nothing to do with Saints. I can't get bitter about someone scoring a goal against us. I mean I wasn't exactly thrilled with the Norris goal at St Mary's last season but I had to admire the technique.
No, I can't hate this chap but any player who goes into a tackle with the intention of breaking their opponents leg and then brags about it after is certainly deserving of my contempt
And then ITV use Roy Keane as a pundit!<<doh>
But even then, I don't feel inclined to post profanities on a forum to describe someone I have never met, particularly whilst the swear filter is ****ed.;)

I don't dislike Southampton in the slightest.

Probably yourselves and Everton are the only 2 clubs I quite like other that WHUFC.

I know I'm not popular on here but I think it's all generally quite good natured and I certainly don't see us as rivals.

To be fair though Trixter you do have your moments and you have annoyed me a number of times! But it is mostly good natured. Are you going to be heading down to St Marys when West Ham play there?

Yeah maybe I can be a bit annoying but isn't that what being a football fan is about?

    This thread for example.

It could so easily backfire on me. I've had fun in it early on. You've closed the gap and all given a bit back. Today it's swung a little in our favour again.

It's all good fun IMO. I will take it on the chin if This thread makes me look daft, and I will have a bit of fun if it goes our way. I don't think there is anything in it other than footy banter although there are one or two posters on here who get a bit upset with me and call me all sorts of Nasty names!

    How silly.

If you look at the last time I posted, it was the day after our 5-1 at Arsenal.

I like these threads - last season's "And that my friends is how to win away" goes down as one of the all time not606 classics! Let's hope for the same outcome again!!!!

Well done trix, but keep one eye over your shoulder for us :)

I hate El Hadji Diouf. As does most of the footballing world. Similarly Luis Suarez, although he is one of the best players in the world which is in his favour.
