Don't dislike Reading as long as they stay below us. They had a terrific run, but basically we gave it to them. We should have been out of sight.

Don't understand this "rivalry" with West Ham to be honest.

That's because you've been here for 5 minutes [sorry to patronise, but it's ever-so-slightly true] The rivalry has come about because of last season's efforts, and the boasting of the early season's rise of WHU and the struggles of Saints. The results from these events could change markedly over the next few games.

There's only 1 reason Reading managed promotion : Jason Roberts. I hope they go back down.

What? Le Fondre is a much bigger reason why they got promotion.

They both played a huge part. Jason Roberts was hugely influential when he joined; it coincided with them going on that very long unbeaten run. They both scored important goals too, none more so than at St.Mary's

Don't think it's a true rivalry, but one started because of competition for the auto spots last season. I also remember some 'rivalry' in the last few seasons in the PL for us, because we were in competition for avoiding relegation. West Ham were often in the mix with us, so I often remember looking for their results then.

I agree with Godfather, I don't feel any particular enmity towards West Ham. I'm not a particular fan of Allardyce and his teams, but some Saints fans are looking for a rivalry where there's no real substance to it.

It was good to take 4 points off them last season, because that was materially important in our push for promotion, but there's nothing beyond that as far as I can see.

Our rivals in the PL are the nineteen other teams.

I have a soft spot for Reading as they are my home county team and like us in the past they have done well to hang in there against the odds.

As for West Ham rivallry we have got find someone now that we aren't likely to play poor old pompey for goodness knows how many years if ever again.

I don't particularly understand having a go at West Ham or Liverpool are any of this one-upmanship it just seems daft, then again I'm not really a rivalry-driven fan, I'm not even that bothered about Pompey, if a game comes around I'll anticipate it more than others but overall they are just another team to me.

It makes sense that West Ham are our new rivals because of simmiler league positions over the last two years. I can't dislike them though as I go up to the Bolyn every now and again when my mate has a spare ticket. Hating on Pompey is pointless, and I've lived in Brighton my whole life so even though I don't like them very much, I can't hate them. So you know who I hate? Who's fans I hate with a passion? Who's manager really gets my goat? Manchester United. ****ing hate them. I even hate their kit.

I actually wanted West Ham to go up for the first half of last year, because I have a soft spot for the club owing to their past playing style and development of young players. Then, I started reading KUMB on a regular basis.

I live in Southend, so West Ham are everywhere!

I don't really hate them or consider them a rival, but I dislike them.

However, on here I mainly believe it is a bit of fun where certain users engage in lightly teasing the other.

That's continued and is fine by me. It's never really malicious or 'rivalry'.

I quite enjoy watching West Ham, so I'm going to opt out of this silly little rivalry if that's okay with you guys.
