I am more optimistic than I was. That will no way be the case if we are as we are now come the start of the season. However I think that the club is making genuine efforts to get the squad sorted prior to the season starting. Ashley needs to get his wedge out though. I am fully suppotive of the value for money way of thinking but we NEED at least 1 proper bad ass forward as part of our recruitments and for that you usually have to pay.

All depends if you are naive enough to expect this regime to get all their transfer targets despite any evidence to suggest they would?

We are in a worse place then I originally thought at the end of the season and to make it worse another highlight of fat mikes business acumen by virtually given debuccy away for free.

But at least gosling and abeid have been replaced and buying de Jong has now just moved the lack of quality issue to right back.

On a daily bases we are looking like prime A bellends
Please can people say why they are more confident ??? at a guess it would be the pardew in brigade once again banging the "let's put our fingers in our ears lar-lar-lar" drums.

No we are just not daft enough to expect any better. Is there still a Pardew In brigade? Ok I'll restart it, Pardew In, bloke is a tactical genius and a legend. Anyone who can wind up BRS, 2010 and Mr Tiote that much is alright with me.

The new signings will be good hopefully but our squad is looking rank average in the striking department.

Loic Remy was involved in over 45% of our goals last season and he will be very difficult to replace.
Cisse isn't really firing like he has at one time, injured or not and I just worry that we're not going to score enough.

I think you need proven quality in the Barclays Premier League and it's an area we are seriously lacking in.

More optimistic, but that isn't really hard after last season.
