Rightly or wrongly, alwaysright was supporting me yesterday in the same way you Greens have always supported one another on your board. I asked if I could multi board my thread way before match day, however, if someone accuses my team of cheating on it I am going to respond. As for my continued match talk yesterday after the game, I have always done so and will continue to do so, whether my team win/lose/draw. Understanding the weaknesses and strong points of teams, is not about fans kicking lumps out of one another but discussing the game in the same way as you would having a friendly pint down the pub. In fairness to alwaysright yesterday, I personally did feel there was sour grapes sadly from some Greens yesterday and the proper match talk got completely lost.
I'm sorry if things went sour on your multi-board thread (I tried to check it this morning....have you deleted it?)........I don't think I used it,...... I don't find that sought of thread interesting..........and can be dominated by a more active site as yours is.......and be more of an intrusion than a help with so many unknown posters being involved.
Thanks Mrs LaLa.........I hadn't associated my "Redbus" comment and my comment on Sensibles "poor taste" with that site.......I thought I had not got involved with the main theme of the thread. I hope old BoBo has helped to calm your "furrowed Brow" this morning..........just remember Andy is a Scot and they want to sod off anyway.
I tried to defuse the argument ensuing on that thread last night but alwaysright was having none of it, I got called westcountryblablabla - I gave up as apparently it is sour grapes because we didn't agree with their players' gamesmanship. Still pissed off this morning Plym but it has to do with more than just football, yesterday was a disaster.
I'm sorry Mrs LaLa........... that you feel like that..........Just give BoBo time to work his Magic...........before old moaning sensible drags himself out of his pit...........and realize that yesterday wasn't just a bad dream............but a real nightmare.............and hear that socks Fletcher is telling us everything is going to be alright,........maybe that means he's going to resign.
Well I'm still pissed off this afternoon. I didn't read a lot of the deleted thread and was not aware of any sourgrapes being expressed enough for anyone to get on a high horse (oops! must not mention the horse). I was not having any sort of go at the Gillingham players for their antics, it was the Ref who was in my sights. He allowed it and the antics were so blatantly obviously acting. It's a pity because the talking point should be about the play not the play acting or Ref. If alwaysright doesn't like or condone cheating then I'm sorry old son you need to get yourself a different club shirt and change your allegiance elsewhere. Your players did very little else. That isn't sour grapes or green tinted glasses speaking either. We would have probably done the same in your shoes if allowed to which is a lot that is wrong in football today. I wouldn't condone it either way incidentally as I too don't like the falling down game and conning it has become.
Sensible.......Fletcher wouldn't know how to organize such play........he doesn't even realize that using your third sub at Macclesfield would help run the clock down.
Fletcher yesterday was tactically inept right from the start. He played a bizaar 4 - 1 - 4 - 1 shape at the beginning. It clearly wasn't working as the players didn't seem to know what to do and were getting in each others way. He left it as it was for a reason not obvious to the crowd. When they went down to 10 men and we were one down was the time to go for it and bring on two front men and go to three at the back as a minimum. His first sub was a defender for a defender. It was not until 15 mnutes to go that he did anything to change the shape. It was hopeless. Now, that is not generally agreeing that Fletcher is inept in every game. Just in this one although he has been a bit naive in others. I know I keep harping on about it but the players never got to grips with the stopping and starting. There was no rhythm to the game at all thanks in full to the opposition players. I know grounds are sometimes called "The theatre of ........." but you do actually expect to see football and not an acting course taking place. The Ref was a complete and utter muppet. Everyone else in the ground could blatantly see what was happening except him. Here is one example of his prowess. Their keeper threw the ball out of play deliberately. Now I looked around to see who was on the floor needing attention. There was nobody and why he did it was so that they could make a substitution and only that. Purse picked up the ball and took a throw in where our player would have been one on one with the keeper with a defender close by. The Ref blew his whistle and stopped the game so Purse re-took the throw in repeating the first act. The Ref stopped the game again with Purse asking why. Not unreasonable given there was actually no injury. No explanation given and the Ref then allowed the substitution to take place. Does the man not even know the rules? He caused two players to collide by being in the way, gave a foul against our player and booked him for "the tackle". It just went on and on like that all match. For once I am 100% blaming the Ref for a poor game because it was 100% down to him it was. Gillingham simply did what they were allowed to do. I know joe still thinks we will get away with this season by the skin of our teeth. I hope he is right but having witnessed the last three home matches I just cannot see it anymore. I hope to god I'm wrong as it is one prediction I would gladly give up.
