After Brucie has walked away i have noticed a lot of abuse towards Newcastle fans i would usually not see. Is it just me or have we suddenly become the most hated club because 1. Our new money and 2 the way we treated a manager that in our eyes should have gone before now. Surely the jealousy is kicking in already and we have not spent a penny yet.
Other fans are rattled. Decent fans see us winning the lottery as a reasonable pay off for 14 years of misery. Each to their own. All the big clubs have their haters.
Yep and I'm loving it, watching them all squirm. Lot's took delight in telling us we'd never reach the top and that we were deluded for wanting more, now we've got just the potential they are bricking it. They only thing better than the EPL clubs crying about it is the mackems getting on their moral high horse.
Spot on they've been enjoying making us suffer and now they've realised they've got it coming big time It's like the end of an epic movie where the ****s are facing defeat
We've just got a little more unpopular and in a different way. We've gone from being deluded and laughable to a dangerous threat. ManC fans have tread a similar path.
Not by everyone, but the number who dislike us will have grown. Every club has a natural number of peole who hate them, often for reasons no greater than they used to work with a fan who was a bit of a knob, or it was a toon fan their lass ran off with, etc. On top of that we have a sizeable group who dislike us because of the overreaction some sections of the fanbase have to bad runs of form and the embarassing spectacle of things like the mock funeral. Thanks for that Mr Wraith!! We will also now have those who either resent the amount of money we have behind us, either through jealousy or a concern for the way money is overtaking football (a sizeable part of our fanbase thought the same till recently about the latter). Others will resent where the money has come from, and to a large extent they have a point, though it has nothing to do with the fans as we had no say in it. I think it is still the majority though who recognise that the 14 years under Ashley was more than a bad run of form and that we had genuine grievances. Many see the benefit of another club to ruffle the feathers of the big six. Some will even wish us well on that endeavour. I doubt we will be anybody's second favourite team now though.
It's more vicious with us I think. Even over the last 14 years, we've had haters - We're deluded, we win **** all, we're not a big club. attendances don't make big clubs. Blah Blah Blah. I would love to see Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd, Arsenal, etc crowd sizes in the 2nd tier after 50 years of winning **** all and 100 years since a title win. They're ****ing ****ting it. They got a taste of what we may become in the 90's and it terrified them.
Not sure you are the most hated, but definitely top 3 along with Liverpool and Utd. And it's nowt to do with money. Its more the systematic abuse the majority have given to Steve Bruce. At the end of the day he is just a run of the mill fella with a family trying to the do a thankless task with a club that haven't won a major trophy for 60 plus years and a fanbase that expect to be top 4 every year.
