If you look at the situation say a month ago compared to now it's not hard to see why there's a lot of disappointment and bitterness going around. Not only have we somehow still not signed M'Vila which looked like an absolute stick on but one half of our defensive partnership is on the verge of leaving us with the season almost on us. This Papy might be good or he might be ****, it's unknown. Where's the 100 mil gone, our rivals are spending theirs. Regardless of the change in manager we should have had a range of deals lined up for Moyes to ok on arrival, such as M'Vila. I'm sure they're working hard but it looks like we're yet again going to be unsettled at the start of a new season. Same old **** every year and we're not getting any younger. I haven't had a go at the club anywhere publicly and I'm obviously not going to boo them or anything daft like that but I am becoming very frustrated. I don't know how some of you are so calm about it.
We have great sponsorship deals RAW, not just the shirt, the kit deal is far greater than clubs around us and some of the secondary sponsorships are excellent, that side of the club is well run. What we lack, bar really Defoe, is star players that sell shirts, that kids look up to. I'm not suggesting we can sign a Zlatan, but £76million shirt sales in a week, wow. We don't sell that many shirts for the club in a year. You need to look at the star of a country, could we get the America, South Korea or Japan captain? That's millions of shirts. We certainly can't get a massive European name right now. Gyan was probably the most marketable player we've had, he cost a lot and went for a lot.
