One key thing about the Spurs game that's been overlooked here. For obvious reasons we were missing Livermore's forward running in midfield. I know Meyler runs like ****, but it's not the same, and with Huddlestone liking to sit deeper we were pretty limited in terms of having some surging midfield runner. Even Quinn if he'd been in the team is more of a run around battling than a making attacking runs kind of player.
Surprised nobody came in for Quinn in the window. I've always rated him, think he's a class player at our level.
He'll have got a payrise on promotion, he's got a good chance of playing at Wembley in an FA Cup semi-final*, and he's only an injury to Meyler away from starting for us (unless anyone can see us starting with Huddlestone, Livermore, and Boyd as a midfield 3, or just the first two in a midfield 4). They're best waiting til the summer when he's a free agent. *we've got an admittedly good lower league team in the 5th Round, and then in the 6th round there's a 50% chance of getting a tie where we've got a good chance of winning it and getting to the semi-final.
