FFS do we have to relive that unpleasant episode that the ****ing sewer rat was found guilty of racist language and severely punished for it? And that stupid donkey Dogleish supported him and dragged his club into the gutter and got rightly sacked for it. The same Dogleish who is now forever remembered as the clown who tried to defend the indefensible Everything that needed to be said has been said. The RS to their eternal shame backed racist behaviour and lost
When have I ever, once, claimed that something United supporters did didn't happen? Eh? I don't live in this world where counter blaming someone somehow deflects blame from the subject in question. Like you do. That's YOUR m.o., which is the point. As for the Rio stuff (which I didn't ****ing read), like I have been forced to say on way too many occasions, it's only you who believes what you say so please just stop and **** off. Ok? Please.
I agree with you. The team is definitely not that great but I think the potential is there due to their age. Most people overlook that fact. I think if a new manager comes in, only three players would survive in midfield area - Morgan, Depay (the potential is there, but needs nurturing) and Herrera. Mata has had a massive dip in form. Up front, I would still keep Rooney in the squad but should not be a guaranteed starter. Martial needs to own the No. 9 shirt. Then at the back, De Gea, Smalling and Shaw. Even though I said the squad is not good enough, I've already named 7 players that I quite like which is weird. If we can get two solid wingers, a partner for Smalling and perhaps a maestro playmarker, the squad should be capable. That is 4 players from the league title.
You need more than good players to win a title. You need a team. And for that you need a manager who can get all his players to play the right system in the premiership. Players who are happy to play for each other and for the manager. I don't see it in this group of players.
I don't think anyone would disagree with that sentiment. Including LvG. The problem has become chronic and LvG won't be the man to change that. It would take an experienced man-manager to accomplish that. I just hope to God that we don't get Giggs.
Giggs does not have that experience as manager since technically, he is not a manager. So I guess it won't be Giggs.
In fairness most of us admit we're bang average - those who don't aren't really fans, or intelligent ones anyway.
We need at least 2 exceptional players to win the league. At the moment we don't have any (OK we have de gea but I'm talking outfield players). Man city have aguero, de bruyne, toure (better than anything we have in out team), arsenal have Sanchez and the team are playing like a team. We had di Maria who could have been a catalyst to signing more exceptional players. But what happened? Van gaal's bad man management ruined his united career. I don't wanna hear that he doesn't want to play for united anyway, I mean what do u expect? Yes he had a few bad games but that is expected. Van gaal played him in cm, right wing, left wing, striker, central attacking midfielder. No player will be happy when played like that, definitely not a player in the class of di Maria. We can all see why he's doing with psg now. Van gaal is a very bad man manager. Why is it so difficult to play mata in no 10? I'm sure if mata is a player in the class of di Maria, Sanchez, Suarez or neymar and he continues to play out of position week in week out, even when there's no natural no 10 on the pitch, he would have asked to leave. I remember a game we played this season and van gaal played about 5 or 6 players out of position. U can imagine playing Ashley young as right back while playing a natural right back Damian at left back, then play a natural left back as central defender, plays a no 10 on the wing. Lvg is the first problem with this team, until that is taken care of I don't see this team going forward.
Dunno about that tbh. We're definitely a mile behind SAF's best teams, and most of his decent teams. But when you look back around 00-04 when Bosnich, Barthez, Silvestre, Blanc, Butt, Phil Neville, Forlan, Kleberson and Djembax2 were regular features in squads challenging for, and even winning, the title, the current crop isn't a way off that sort of level. The main issue we have is that back then we had some leadership, off and on the pitch. SAF would get the current squad challenging for the title, although maybe not winning it, and the addition of a Rio or Stam and the back and Keane or Scholes in the centre would get us more results and get players performing at their best level. I don't think it's deluded to say that if the majority of our squad played to the level they are capable of then we would be able to match any club in the league barring City on their day. The problem is the lack of leadership which means very few of our squad is playing as they can.
Saw something on the bbc gossip column that Harry redknapp was quoted as saying that even if we had fergie in command of this batch of players we would still be where we are.
Nah, don't agree with that. As said further up, there's a decent team in there and as Swarbs says, it would be better than some of Fergie's less spectacular ones. He'd instill that dogs of war mentality. It was very 'United' under Fergie and it's gone. Ferguson would have the likes of Schweinsteiger, Rooney, Smalling and Herrera running through walls for him. There's your leaders.
You're missing the point fella. You havent won the league in nigh on 26 years. You're well known for claiming it's your year at the glimmer of a half decent set of results. The thread I was alluding to was simply one example of that long long running trend. For you to say that Liverpool fans saying "this is going to be our year" is a myth, is ridiculous considering you were saying it just 2 seasons ago! It's the most ridiculous denial I've heard on this forum.
What quote? You've highlighted in bold something I've posted. Are you honestly saying Liverpool fans never claim it's their year for the title?? I can show that quite easily.
"This year is our year"? Sorry to be picky, but you did say it's well known. If it was just title pipedreams, I'd only have to go back two months on this board to find Swarbs and others claiming you were 'well in the title fight'. In fact. LVG himself claimed it a few weeks ago when you beat us!
Completely agree. Your squad is poor, you've largely blown £300m on good rather than top players. Is it van gaal's fault that top player after player after player blanked you. However even with the most badly assembled £300m squad in history, Those players should be getting top 4 minimum and possibly mounting some sort of title challenge and at Least competing in Europe, Arsenal style. Last 16 in CL The wages and fees you paid for good to average players is ridiculous
that's a pathetic cop out. This is what you posted to me last night... To which I replied by saying that you were missing the point. And I'll say it again. This is about Liverpool not winning a title in 26 years and the fact many liverpool fans are quick to claim it will be their year at the mere sight of a few good results. What Swarbs may or may not have said is nowhere near comparable when you consider the long long trend of liverpool fans doing this. Now you're splitting hairs on terminology? Come off it Donga.
How is out £300m squad worse than your £500m squad that is languishing in the bottom half of the league table?
Which red top do you get your news from? Top player after player after player (Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, they all blanked us if you are a dustbin and take any old **** in )
