What a load of crap ...................... desperate people will write anything to make a crust. As a supposed journalist, he ain't no pastry chef!
Not sure I agree that there are 13 other teams in the relegation dog fight. Looking at the league table today, I find it hard to look beyond the bottom 5 for the 3 that will drop. I would possibly add Leicester, West Ham and West Brom to that list.
There are some that are more likely to survive than others - Southampton, Villa and Swansea have some decent points on the board. But, put it this way, the best of them - Southampton are averaging 2.08 points per game - will that continue? Highly unlikely, so one could expect them to slide to some degree. They're unlikely to slide that much, but, given that they're 7 points above the bottom 5, is it that unfeasible that a downturn in fortunes could see them slip 7 points in comparison to one of those bottom 5 over the course of 32 games? Only of my group of 13, only 3 have got over 50 points in the last three season (each once) and as a comparative, Swansea and Villa have the same points after six games this season as Hull did at the same stage last year. Hull finished with 37 points. Form is temporary, only the top 7 are permanent!
Hull is an interesting case from last season. Hull's league position fluctuated between 10th and 13th for most of last season, and with 8 games left they had already accumulated 33 points. They definitely took the foot off the gas then, and lost 6 and drew 1 of their last eight games; the FA cup might have had something to do with it too. I kind of agree with Col though, and I will be surprised if any of the eventually relegated three come from outside of the bottom 8 as the league is currently configured.
I think it's just a matter of opinion - I always think of the potential for things to change (that's not to say they always do). Realistically I'd expect 7-8 of the bottom clubs (excluding Liverpool, Everton etc) to finish in the bottom half but it's the other 2-3 that intrigue me and I wouldn't like to predict how low they'll finish (hopefully below us).
I think the gist of the article was right and after today's pathetic performance we're heading only one way. Some people on here are deluded if they think what we've produced this season has anything other than relegation written all over it. The only forecast wrong with the article is that we look much more likely than Burnley for the drop...
Souness in trashing the work ethic, passion and determination of our players, went for the sympathy vote for Harry -he won't sleep tonight etc - but as I see it, the team is reflecting the unemotional, laid back approach of the manager. He's reaping what he sowed, and after today, I'd replace him with Pulis without a second thought
Judging by his sedentary and indifferent posture today, I'd say he's already had his nap for the day.
As far as QPR are concerned, this with knobs on. Not sure about Burnley. They have the passion that we lack. Unless we change Managers and get Pulis in ASAP, we're going down. I think there might be a race between us and Newcastle to see who can get Pulis first. Over to you TF.
Really? I remember online and in the ground seeing/hearing the opinion that the summer signings were good enough to secure something like a 10th place finish. That view certainly seemed to be doing the rounds whenever I put my ear to the ground.
