Well you certainly weren't one of the 2 or 3 that I considered to be over-reacting to Saints results after the first 4 games.
And we have already played three of those teams, it could be argued that we have effectively three games in hand over many of our rivals that have yet to play the "best teams".
Well you can sure that every point we get will have to be hard earned. But hopefully every point that gets taken off us will be hard earned too. Or most of them at least.
We were good against villa, but it amazes me how the feel of the forum swings.... A likely defeat (only being realistic and hoping for better) against Everton and it's 1 win from 6. The the forum will be over run with the negative opinions again and a massive build up to the Fulham game. We are in for an emotional roller coaster this season of highs and lows.
I'm fairly confident now, for the same reason that I was fairly confident at the outset of the season: we can score goals. In fact, it appears that we can score an awful lot of goals, currently being in a tie for fifth in goals scored despite playing United/City/Arsenal. Meanwhile, several possible rivals -- Villa, Wigan, Norwich, Reading and QPR, to name five -- haven't exactly been filling up the nets, and my feeling has always been that it's better to turn winnable games into wins and losses than into draws. We have a team that can do that, and while we're going to surrender an awful lot ourselves (and could end up with a pretty hefty goal differential at season's end) I like our chances of winning enough shootouts to steer clear of relegation...if only barely. Just have to accept that it's a road that will be paved with 4-1 wins and the odd 6-1 drubbing.
