I'm hoping you'll be 40 points off that target personally <whistle>

Which of the (potential) signings excites you most.

Or twice in 20. It's easy to manipulate stats ;)

I do think if you get those signings you'll have a squad much better than Liverpool's and as good as Arsenals

Think I preferred it when we were written off. <ok>

Our defence and midfield are good enough to challenge for top four, just need to stop with the mistakes.

Up front we have Suarez who is also good enough for a top 4 challenge, but this is still our weakest area. His finishing can be a bit off and everyone else is slightly unproven. Exciting young talent in Sterling, Borini is a passionate and good technical player but I still don't know if he is going to be our main goal scorer this season. Assaidi is still to be seen on the field and then you have Downing and Carroll who are not good enough for a challenge imo.

Like some have said, it depends on what other deals we bring in. I think we are in for 5th/6th at the moment.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, United, City etc all make mistakes as well. There comes a time where you have to accept your just not quite good enough.

Lucas is a huge loss. Spurs don't have the best midfield in the world IMO but last season at 3PL you made their midfield (and team in general) look like the second coming of Real Madrid in the Galactico era.

Sahin and Lucas IMO are good enough but I'm not sure the rest are, certainly not to usurp Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs or even Newcastle.

The bar has been raised so much higher since you were last in the CL. I don't mean to be patronising but it's not going to be as straight forward as you think.

You've missed out Allen. So far he's been great for us, and when Lucas had to go off against City, Allen done a great job. Also when we went to WHL we were also stupid enough to go down to 9 men, which of course was our fault, that's when we leaked 3 more goals. Up to then, they were 1-0 up and we were perfectly capable of making some sort of come back.

This season will be interesting to say the least.

I was basing our defence on last season, 3rd best in the league = top 4 quality. But haven't seen its full potential this season due to mistakes and a new system. It could be a lot worse than last year.

I know top 4 is a lot harder now city have joined the big boys, and it's harder to get after being out for so long. Personally I think I would be happy with top 6 and great progress. With BRs job safe and philosophy working well. We have a young squad, it could flourish if all goes well and we have no more transitional phases.

If you changed 1 letter in the thread title it would have been perfect.

Liverpools defence is pretty good to be honest, their midfield is so-so and their forwards pretty pants.
Suarez has moments of brilliance, but he cannot finish for toffee.
Gerrard is on the wane too tbh. Again, still has the odd flash of genius, but is starting to get more and more anonymous for longer periods in games, especially against the smaller teams.

I have never understood Liverpool in the last 5 years, you always seem to be able to turn it on against the bigger teams (Us, Utd, City, Arsenal) like at the weekend against City.
But then you come across teams like West Brom and Stoke and you get hammered. Really odd. Whether its an arrogance thing or not I dont know, but its a bad mentality. Hopefully, Rodgers, coming from a smaller club, can drive this mentality out of you and get you playing with respect against all your opponents.

Dembele and Adebayor. Lloris is the only one of the potential signings that I've seen a whole lot of and whilst I rate him I do worry whether he'll be able to adapt quickly to the Premier League or go a bit De Gea on us.
