Fair enough, hoped to stay up. But concerned. Who was to know that, when the injuries mounted up, that Gower, Much and Richards would pull it out the bag? It was very pleasing that, with the exception of Dobbie, most players made a decent show of it.

With Bellamy back, the team will get the proverbial shot in the arm. At this time of the year, you need that little something extra as a boost, why not the return of, most probably, the bes tplayer in the league?

Good old Championship, living up to it's reputation once again but unlike many seasons there is no run-away leader (although Cardiff did have a 10 point gap at one stage) and no team that has so far replicated Reading (although Forest are starting to look decent).

3 Weeks ago I was convinced Cardiff would be comfortable winners of the league but not so certain today. The next two games could be very telling - away to Sheff Wed and Peterborough, beyond that, going by the current form book they have a fairly awkward run-in. My view is they must win these next two games or the pressure is going to be on with Watford, Hull and Palace breathing down their necks.

The one thing that stands out about the Championship this season is how depressingly average it is. When a side packed full of mediocrities like Cardiff have spent most of the season on top of it that doesn't exactly stand out as a mark of quality.

If the Redbirds somehow manage to avoid bottling it this year they'd have to carry out major surgery on the team next season to have even a ghost of a chance of survivial, surgery that given his so-so record in the transfer market thus far Mackay doesn't seem up to successfully completing. That is of course if he gets the funds to do so and Vinny Tan doesn't just pay himself back out of the Sky money.

The choke is on! Never mind all this bull about two Welsh team in the premiership, I never want them there to sully the name of Wales with the antics of their yob fans. I'd love to see them drop to the playoffs, make the final and then lose. Them not making it is only made a richer experience when I know that their 'fans,', have spent £300 on a day out. Come on Dave , and Sheffield Wed!

    Mediocrities?

This is the best squad we've had in the Championship by far, which we've finished high up for the last 4 or 5 seasons including the one where you finished level on points with us.

Looks like you can't handle us doing alright for ourselves. <wah>

yes, mediocrities, My son plays with cardiff and coming from your own youth coaches, you will need at least 8 players just to avoid humiliation should you go up.

I'm sorry to say this but I think you may beat Derby to the lowest ever PL points total whatever Tan does or doesn't do.

I have no doubt that they will go up but maybe not as champions. They will need significant transfer activity both in numbers of players and cash to strengthen if they want to make fist of it.

It may be close at the top but the quality of football in the Championship isn't good at the moment. I watched the Burnley Hull game this week - god it was dire!

But not with a whole new team. At least if you come up you will get to see some good players in red.

Honestly, how many of your players and who do you actually think are good enough if you go up?

    same Vincent Tan?

    Vincent Tan Chee Yioun

“I am also keenly aware that there is only so much money that a person needs for himself and his family and this brings home the sense that when one is blessed with great wealth beyond what is needed, there is a corresponding moral and social responsibility to put the money to good use. For this reason, I have for many years done my part to help the less fortunate and under-privileged through monetary donations and other means of material support. I have also established a foundation known as Better Malaysia Foundation to organize and focus these efforts with the aim of giving back to the community and generally making Malaysia a better place. This, in part, is also to return to society what I have benefited through the support my fellow Malaysians have given to the various businesses of both the publicly listed Berjaya group of companies of which I am the major shareholder and my other privately held concerns.”
