FIFA's reputation is probably at its lowest point in history with the world cup bidding process scandal. And we can all agree that the standard of refereeing in the premier league is shocking. Now with the FA taking no action against Ashley Barnes and stating... "the whole game is in agreement that, in the vast majority of cases, match officials are best-placed to deal with incidents to avoid re-refereeing" are the FA slowly becoming as inept as FIFA? Who is 'the whole game' exactly? Isn't it quite clear that referees are in fact often worst-placed to deal with incidents like these? Or are the FA trying to suggest that an official, in the highly pressurized situation of a stadium full of home fans is in a better position to make a judgement on an event they can only view once, than a panel of experts who can watch umpteen replays from many angles of said incident? Statements like these just make the FA seem incredibly stupid to me, and I can't understand how anyone at the FA isn't realizing how stupid they are coming off. Are they stupid? Or do just not care that they look stupid? No-one is allowed to say anything about referees without risking the wrath of 'bringing the game into disrepute'. And I'm not even entirely sure what that term even means anymore. Is it not disrepute having a game decided by officials? Is it not disrepute having leg breaking tackles being seen, not punished and then not retrospectively punished? Is it not suspiciously disrepute that the FA has a 99.5% conviction rate with no victories in appeals? Anyone else think the FA needs pulling apart and starting again?
What's the point of having a panel to review serious incidents that require retrospective punishments if the FA are scared of re-refereeing ?
Erm, so in other words the ref saw it, and deemed it ok? Why else then wouldnt he have done anything about the horror tackle if he saw it, unless he thought there was nothing wrong with it. What a bunch of incompetent ****tards. Why don't clubs just do away with the FA, they have the money and power to do so, it's time clubs start stamping their authority more against these pieces of ****, who aren't only bastards when it comes to their bad officiating, but also when it comes to the way they often make their stupid fixtures.
