I honestly can't be bothered to have a pop at the Sun as it positively celebrates the uneducated, prejudiced and downright stupid and therefore would probably consider an attack from a Guardian reader as confirmation that it's on the right track. Oh, it seems I can be bothered, or can't help myself, one or the other. As far as the OP is concerned, we are getting better media coverage than last season, but at the end of the day the press will have its darlings for a short period and then they move on to the next, like a swarm of locusts. A very apt analogy really.
"The best bang since the big one" I'm sure I mentioned this yesterday, but I think it stands up to a second telling?
I've only read the opening post but what an embarassing thread. I would say West Ham used to be a club that everyone liked. When Harry was in charge and later on, Pardew's young team - I don't think there were many that had a problem with us. To say that that has only changed this season is ridiculous. We stopped being the media darlings when the icelandics took over and started throwing money around that we couldnt afford on players like Dyer, ljungberg, upson etc. We were then further frowned upon after the tevez/sheff utd controversy. We are now generally disliked and I personally prefer it this way. I hate being referred to as "everyones second team". We do, however, have a MASSIVE fan base and that is why we might get a bit more coverage than other teams. I would say that tottenham are the biggest media darlings with rent-a- gob Harry always willing to have a chat with Skys desperate reporters. You and Blackpool are flavour of the month this season in the championship mainly due to your managers talking a good game and the fact that you are probably both exceeding expectation this season. Thats my opinion anyway.
