Sadly if self harm and suicide etc rates are anything to go by then I don't think even the person in question ever "accepts" it. And although it doesn't help I don't think it's as simple as what you or I may have called a person. I don't believe there is a definitive answer and imo experiences I think sometimes we make something the norm or accept it because those making the loudest noise "win". And not for the best. It's like the whole gay Gene argument many wanted this to be true but you have to ask for whose benefit? And also I believe some at the forefront of gay rights etc didn't like it. So believe in sexual fluidity rather than defined sexuality
I'm openly honest about most things, and quite acceptable of most things, not that my opinion matters. But i do struggle and feel uncomfortable with the transgender path, mainly for the reasons i've given above. I understand how from mental health perspective genderfication can be a problem, i just don't get then why they need to define their outer body as he or she, which in my mind defeats the whole object of the thoughts in the first place. They hate genderfication but they follow a genderfication path of surgery!

Interesting point. Although I would say it's more diverse than that. Some people who opt for transgender ops absolutely associate with being of the other sex. But I think there are a lot of people out there who are comfortable being in their bodies who we would call 'butch women' or 'camp men'
In my mind, true non genderfication should not involve sexuality, it should be deeper than that, and if it does involve sexuality then surgery should be refused imho.
Back on subject, same sex couples/marriages I have absolutely no problem with. You are who you are and can't help who you fall in love with. I wonder if same sex couples raising children is any different than single parents raising children (or mixed sex couples). It all depends on the people doing the raising and how balanced a view of the world they instil in the children. I have a brother in law who fathered 2 children with his partner (a girl and a boy), when the children were 3 and 5 respectively their mum decided/realised/admitted she was gay and left the BiL for another woman taking both kids with her. Now the kids are both early 20s and very nice well balanced people, that said, they have always known the BiL as their father and he has always been a big part of their lives. On the other side, I was listening to a 5Live program three weeks ago discussing similar things. One of the guest phone-ins was a woman talking about her 14yo son, she said most days he identified as a girl, had long hair down his back and dressed like his favourite group (lLittle Mix) but every now and then would identify as a boy for a few days. When she then went on to make the statement she and her wife had taken him to a councillor to help him through this it made me laugh a little (rightly or maybe wrongly) since I could see where the poor lads confusion might have been born but she couldn't.

I would say that transgender is a mental illness, being careful here with the use of the term MH. But it is in it's own right, and i would be surprised if a transgender person denied it as such. However, it's an illness brought on by parental influences and acceptances, if that makes sense. I don't agree that homosexuality is a sexual perversion or deviation. I do believe same sexes can and are attracted to one another. Remember we are trapped as our gender from birth, however, maturity defines our affection for another for many reasons, not just sexuality.

The only thing you can conclude from that is that the idea of 'one size fits all' isn't the case. Good parenting is about providing a loving and supportive home regardless of sexual orientation. But it's undeniable that children see their parents as role models and will form their opinions and views of the world based on what their parents do and say.

I don't see why not. Showing affection for your spouse is perfectly normal for kids to see. Seeing them have sex isn't, regardless of whether they are gay or straight.
