Yes but I don't think that's the whole story. They can't write off a season and they must improve on last year because there's a lot of pressure on them from above within the parent company.
Agree with this Stuttgart will not take another season of failure regardless of this year being an evolution of last year in terms of the cars

It simply cannot be possible for Hamilton not to win races this season, the driver's have been the missing ingredient at Mercedes, Hamilton could also inspire Rosberg into regaining his full potential.
