I remember in one of the first games he played, he was on the left touchline, just inside his own half, a player came in with a rough tackle and he just did a feint, dragged it back and knocked a 50 yard pass to the opposite side. I was sold. We played some stunning football with him in the team.
Look at the lad on his debut, short and long range passing, speed of though, vision, can split a defense with a pass. Great player.
Aquilani has certainly got the skill ,vision and touch to fit in to Rodgers plans and I remember being impressed when he finally got on the park for us.(seems like a long time ago). What we have to ensure is that he really wants to be with LFC and his heart is fully committed to the season ahead. I'm not concerned about him fitness wise,if BR is convinced Aqua's up to it then all well and good. A playmaker we really could of done with last season.
Would really like Suso to get some time too, saw a video of him Playing for Spain U 21-s. Could not believe what I was seeing. A real talent.
I suspect he just wants to play. It seemed like his bird was the whiny one and didn't settle. Aqua was certainly our best player in pre-season last summer. I also noticed in a compilation clip how much harder he was going into tackles. Aqua staying would explain why Rodgers bought Borini. Italian footy's not exactly renowned for Rodgers-style tactics so I wondered.
Top comment on that video: Something along the lines of 'Legend playing with Veronin, Kuyt, Boy-Lucas, and Babel... Imagine him playing with Suarez, Carrol, Miereles (which we would laugh at now, but this was a year ago, now it would be Borini,) and Man-Lucas.
Couldn't give a **** if it's whiny bitches or that he just misses is mum, his attitude towards this club has been all wrong. However, if he does a good job in a Liverpool shirt next season I'll be willing to be a hypocrite and say...well done Aquaman.
