Looks like he may not be going after all! http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7949907/Rodgers-to-decide-on-Aquilani I feel like i may be in the minority, but I really hope he stays. He is far better than Adam and Henderson! It also makes no sense to let him go for 7 only to spend more than that on Allen. I would far rather have Aqua even if his sale covered Allen's cost!
Agreed. People who say he never impressed need to realise he never got a chance. If we are going to sell him for 7 and then spend 15 on Allen then our business decisions are as **** as they were under H&G.
So is he staying or going? His agent has jumped out to say no he is fine at Liverpool but hwo could a fee be agreed?
It is like groundhog day again ................................. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Wigger again.
Why? I'm quite happy to moan about our **** business dealings usually but if we can get 7mill for a player nobody else wants then I'd say this is great business. It was buying the lad in the first place that was **** business. You think he'll hang around in England because all of a sudden he loves it here or (call me cynical) because he will have to take a wage cut elsewhere?? Hmmm...let me think about that for a minute. On this one I am most definitely with BR.
He has never said he isn't happy here. His agent has and we all know how much bullshit they spout. He come out and said he wants to play here so why bother getting rid yet? He's a better player than Adam and spearo even if he doesn't want to be here. Maybe 7m is a good price, but if we spend 15m on Allen and don't give aqua a chance, then someone in the negotiations department needs sacking.
Firstly he is HIS agent so can he not ask his agent to reflect his feelings (if he's not bothered to learn any English yet)? We don't want him....the clubs he goes on loan to don't buy him even at what should be a bargain price for such a "talented" player...maybe, just maybe this tells us something about his true abilities and attitude. I keep hearing "he's a great player he just didn't get a chance"...well on what do you base this theory he's so good if he "never got a chance" to show it? If the Italian clubs were fighting each other to sign him then maybe I would think "maybe he has got something about him" but even they know his level. A few good pre season hollywood passes do not constitute a great player in my eyes. Give me a Spearing who'll fight tooth and nail for the club he loves over aqua the steaming stool anyday. He was a rubbish buy. The Allen deal is totally seperate but I think a lot of Reds including me think 15mill for Allen is over the top. However I'll happily take him over the floppy one anyday.
That wouldn't happen though, after the goals he scored last year, they'd be stupid to trade him for Carroll. Ba + cash sounds good enough to me
