Let's be honest here.... You are married to this.. please log in to view this image She works on Italian television, which country do you have a desperate need to play football in?
Doesn't he come out and say something similar every summer (or his agent does). He doesn't have to sign for another club, he could stay and fight for his place and try and prove himself. Words are easy b4f, actions speak louder. If BR thinks he's this fabulous player who's worth his astronomical weekly wage then surely he'll tell him he's got a chance and then it's up to him. If BR is letting him go then I reckon that tells us all we need to know.
That is true mate but I would say how can you prove yourself without being given a chance? You can't purely in training and a couple of friendlies. His wages and age have probably played a part if he is going back. If Rodgers doesn't want him then i'm fine with that - my opinion on the Carroll saga too. Just think its a missed opportunity.
That's that then. What a **** bit of business. We've made some shocking business decisions in the last few years. Allen 15mill? Looks like another one.
Why on earth can't we just forget Allen and Dempsey and just offer 20 + Aqua to Fiorentina for Jovetic. It's there for the taking, it would finally see an exciting name come to Anfield again. Of course this isn't FM so I doubt it will happen but if only...
Report on the bbc that we've accepted an offer for him from Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee. Glad it's not another loan, although wish it was given a fair chance. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19043308
Would be intertesting to know how much we actually paid for him (if a big chunk of the original fee was appearance related etc) but yeah was always a **** bit of business to pay that much for someone who'd been injured for so long. Yet another example of "they saw us coming". I'm with you as well about the Joe Allen fee which I fear will be a millstone just like the fees for Mandy, Hendo and Downing were last year. What I will say though is that at least we know JA will play with a bit of fire and pride, something I never saw from aqua and never expected to. Personally I'm glad he's off (subject to terms and medical etc) and I'm amazed we got anything for him. I do think if he was quite as amazing as some seem to think then there would have been a far bigger queue of clubs to buy him AND BR may well have thought he'd be worth a go. As I said before the fact that neither of these things have happened pretty much sums the lad up better than any of our opinions can.
roma stated we paid the 20mil... there was more than 20mil depending on appearances but we did pay according to thier deal and website. guys come on... no heart, not fitness, lazy. it wnet a long way to get rafa the sack imo.... i'm thankful we got anything.... this si the post G&H era any money spend prior to them going doesn't count as it all went to losses that allowed us to be sold for 200mil. Ergo any money for that guy plus his wages gone is a good deal for fsg. The basic flaw in anyone arguing aquilani's case is they can't even point to one game he bossed and looked like an LFC player. If we are going to link seeling this guy to buying allen and claim this guy is all that I'm afraid thats not right IMO. FSG errors are carroll and downing NOT aquilani. Lets see what rodgers does there.
I tend to agree with you but I would also point out the reason why he may be going and not getting much of a chance could also be because of his high wages and his age and the fact he has a couple of years on his contract so still holds a little value at this point. His 120k wages I believe is why the Italian clubs havent picked him up yet either. I don't think its an issue of quality or heart. We could really do with putting this story to bed. Which I guess we are doing!
So aqua's latest little nugget of an interview was effectively a broadside at the club effectively saying 'if you don't let me go cheaply enough, I'll stay here and you can continue paying me a mountain of cash....that I know you don't want to'.......feckin' manipulative mercenary parasite......hope he does one quickly.......
This ^ With his significant other working in Italy, he never should have signed for us unless he was willing to give it a decent go! Which he never did. He had the potential but had a **** attitude!
Man has no heart. That's how many managers had him for a summer then tried to sell/loan him? Hope he goes: summer stories with Aqua are mores annoying than cliff Richard.
http://www.football-italia.net/21683/vargas-aquilani-exchange Probably rubbish. The Italians not wanting to actually part with cash bit sounds true though!
Would be great if we can get Vargas. Aqualani has done sweet FA for the club, yet has amazing technical ability. If he frees up some wages and we invest in the squad it's fine by me
