BREAKING: East Stand Upper set for green light? Hull City are set push forward proposals to extend the East Stand of the KCOM Stadium with a new upper tier to be added to the existing stand, in light of burgeoning crowd increases and supporters now becoming much more familiar with the previously maligned membership scheme introduced by the club for this season. Current owners Assem and Ehab Allam are desperate to sell the Hull City within 24 hours of their name change bid being rejected by the FA back in 2014, but will not allow the club to lose focus or ambition under their stewardship that would see any disruption to progress. While it is widely reported the relationship between the duo and Hull City Council is fractious at best, a work-around to get expansion plans in place appears to have been found. Although the club remains up for sale, the Allams are seeking prospective suitors to fulfil their blueprint of the stadium expansion with an initial deposit - just like the pair are rumoured to have negotiated with the Chinese consortium during the summer transfer window to fund player purchases. With the attraction of no outlay required from the current owners, prospective buyers can simply roll out the East Stand extension blueprint in place, meaning the Allams will avoid tricky negotiations with the council, while maintaining their ambitious outlook. In a letter to supporters published yesterday, Vice Chairman Ehab Allam revealed the feelgood factor is returning to the club and supporters are playing their part coming through the turnstiles, meaning the East Stand Upper extension is fast becoming a necessity, when he beamed - 'We are reassured the take up has been encouraging with both Membership and attendances increasing.'
My post has been moved. Does this mean it wasn't a genuine statement of intent by Ehab? I'm devastated.
