Yeh, I know mate, the stench is pretty bad as soon as you get close to the tyne, saying that the metty is still on the right side of the tyne. I was told that the problem was caused by using the phone in a docking station, might be true cos my docking station buggered up as well. I have heard of others who have had the same problem and the only way to get it sorted is to visit Apple Store or look for one of these back street phone repairers. If it's less than a year old Apple will do it for free.
Got the new iphone today, old one buggered. Bloke at apple said it's not uncommon that this happens on the iphone 5
