Sports site? A bunch of menstrual monkeys pretending to be intelligent! Read the threads, they are full of pretentious crap - just like this one. The only sense of Mod on here is a sad clinging to northern soul.

There are some discussions where it's inevitable that it will end up needing posts deleted. If the offending posts are deleted and the thread left open the discussion just goes the same way again and they have to be deleted again. It's not something worth banning people for to stop them because it's a gradual slide not someone being a dick and it's not worth the hassle of constantly having to tidy it up. (Generally religion and politics which is why they're off limits) They have to just be locked.

Other ones, if we come on to find a 6 page thread and the last 3 pages are the disruptive side of it, by the time we've deleted them the thread drops so far down the list it doesn't get seen again, so we're better to lock it in 5 seconds than spend 10 minutes working out where the problem started and deleting it.

**** off, you know full well I don't close threads, I just edit the offending posts. ;)

(On a serious point, I think other than the mod vote first round the last time I locked a thread was a cross board thread where the other board mod wanted it stopped and I didn't see the point in it being kept open on our board because we were talking about the other team)
