Apollo 13 the true story and the film
Just after the explosion, Mission Control panicked and there was a famous scene of the Mission Controller requesting everyone to keep calm and work the problem out so as to find a solution. So here is my take of what is required to avoid the drop!
Qualifying for Division 2 next season!!!!!
Thought what needs to be done to avoid a drop from the league structure which I think we can all agree we have made to be a special time in the club's history! After 20 years of being in the league we have had 3 promotion seasons, 10 continous seasons in Division 1 or equivalent!, a FA and league cup semi finals. Apart from this season when we have been in Division 2 we have always been challenging for promotion or play offs! Not bad really for 20 years when we think about it!
However, for the first time in our time in the league our future looks threatened and believe me if we carry on like we are, March will be to late as to avoid the drop which a lot of our neighbours ie Oxford would love to see!
My take on this is that we need 51 points to reach safety preferably by the end of March! We don't want to leave it this late because our form would have to be top of the league!
This means we need to win 13 matches and get 7 draws and we have 37 games left which means we can afford to lose 17 games from now to the end of the season. I think this means our form needs to be mid table. We could still afford to lose a few games whilst we sort things out!
What do people think and I don't think that is an unreasonable request considering that after 4 days the supporters have managed to raise £60,000 to sort out a legal bill of £125,000! I think it is now time for the players to see this as our commitment to the club and show some responsibility and perhaps reminding of the high standards that this club has obtained during its league tenure, to ensure that this target is achieved!
In saying that Good Luck Guys
