Good on you for trying to strike a much needed positive note, but I fear you will be proven wrong.

Diaby gets injured all too often which disrupts his progress - he is visibly uncertain of his own bodies ability to withstand a battering. This is a real plity as he has huge potential.

Frimpong - unproven, and if he were that good why did Wenger loan him out, and keep Ramsey?

Wilshere, ah yes, the great white hope. I though he was overated and believed the hype that surrounded him. Putting that to one side, putting our hopes for the seaon on a wet behind the ears young man coming back from a long injury shows how desparate we are. I fear trhat time may prove him to be a decent squad player more than the super star midfield general we all hope he could be.

Even if you were proven right, that still doesn;'t solve the problem of a gaggle of strikers/forwards who can't bloody shoot/head/backheel etc the ball into the net.

The reason we can write this season off in terms of top two is because it is highly unlikely all three of the big teams will collapse.

I find you all hilarious. Firstly this thread made me smile as it had been a while since you lot all got your negative hats on together :p

Then it had me almost fall off my chair when i saw even PISKIE is getting in on the action!!

What has the world come to!

In all seriousness though there has been a very positive attitude amongst the fans and team so far this season and i don't think one poor performance after the International break with Walcott, Rosicky, Diaby, Wilshere, Sagna - all arguably first team players missing means all is lost! Bare in mind we had spots for Gnabry and not fit WIlshere on the bench - which shows a slight lack of options due to injuries. Personally i don't think we should read too much into this result. We wee too casual, but the team where obviously not as sharp as they have been in previous games and we didn't seem to click.

So you can all stop crying on each others shoulders and sort yourselves out! Last season everyone was whining at this stage about how we would be lucky to get europa league and it was all over for us. And i'll say the same thing i said then, now: We will be top 4 come the end of the season - that isn't the worry - oiur team are very clearly one of the best 4 teams in the country and AW has never failed to deliver in this department. It's about whether we can push on for more than that this season and imo we are looking much better as a unit than we did last season and i'm more happy about the depth of the squad and style of football we seem to be playing (more emphasis on team defending and releasing our dangerous players - as opposed to no defending and kicking it to RVP last season!).

So overall i'd say - stfu, quit your whining and realise it's not all that bad - everyone loses occasionally ;) Deep breathes people, leave the tablets in the draw and put down the bottle!

Doesn't change the fact that Gazidas is an effeminate bellend.

You'll know that I'm probably one of the people who supports the manager and our players the most. But Saturday's game was woeful and if that's the product of the 'depth' in our squad, then I think we could be in for some shocks this season.

Let's hope that Norwich was a one off and it galvanizes the squad into some better performances, because at the moment Chelsea, Utd and City are pulling away from us and we need to make sure we're not going to get left behind.

I'm not one to get on the players backs after one game. But we need to see a marked improvement if we're going to challenge for anything this season.

Keeping a level head on it - I am sure this will prove to be the case - but Wenger must act swiftly to ensure it happens.

It wasn't just that one game, West Ham, Montpellier and Olympiakos were all poor performances as well.

I think we all got a bit carried away after the game at Anfield..

West Ham was a poor performance? Could have fooled me. We seemed a little casual at first and then went up a gear and comfortably won the game - we controlled it. Not sure what game you watched lol

We only stepped it up when they got tired, we were awful in the first half.

We were hardly 'awful'. We had most of the ball and created a few decent chances. Against Norwich, we were awful.

Yeah, we started a little casually but by the end of the game we where very much in control. We put the game to bed and never looked like we would end up with any result other than 3 points imo. So i don't see how that can class as a poor performance. Was chelsea's 4-1 a poor performance as well as all 4 goals came second half? No of course not.

That is the first poor performance we have put in this season. Yes there are maybe thing ew could have done better in oru other games, but we have not played poorly at all this season. We have lacked a little bit of a cutting edge in the final third at times but as a team we have been plaing very well until Norwich!

Most of our 1 team players have no real competition, so they know they can throw a performance like that and still keep their starting place. They know there is no even a hairdryer in the dressing room. So, why bother?

ANd you know exactly how AW talks to the players in teh dressign room emiraleks? You where sitting there and therefor know that he didnt get annoyed with the team. Considering his post match comments i'd imagine he gave them plenty of grief.

If that was Ferguson his players would never have played like that in the second half

This season I genuinely saw competition for places. There is in defense, but that seems to be it. The rest of the team is fairly set due to injuries etc. & thus easy to predict & prepare for.

ummm we were poor against Sunderland at home, poor to Chelsea at home, and this was another poor performance. You need to go to spec savers.

I don't think we where poor against Sunderland or Chelsea. We dominated the Sunderland game but failed to find anything in the final third with a new strike force settling in. We defended well, kept posession and Sunderland rarely left there own half. And with new players gelling it was always going to be difficult to come up against a team who are happy to put everyone behind the ball so early in the season.

Against Chelsea i thought we played fairly well with a couple of lapses for there goals. It was a pretty even game and probably what most expected except for the goals! We always seem to give chelsea easy goals though. Overall it wasn't a poor performance though.

Aginst Norwich we were actually very poor. Our pasing was slow, lacked any urgency and no-one seemed to be on the same wavelength. After there goal we never seemed to get going. Other than a couple of players who put in good shifts the whole team where lacking in several areas!

Anyone moaning about tonight's result should listen to the above poster and, to use his words, "shut the fu#k up".... we are Arsenal after all...how dare we have such fanciful expectations such as winning trophies? I mean its not as if we're Man U right?

It is all very negative here. Arsenal are not out of anything. There is a long way to go.
