AP's mounts are shorter and rightfully so. Forgive a very crude example but if me and Lewis Hamilton went out for race, even if my car was quicker, I still think he'd be the jolly! 2 more today for AP I see. Only 4/1 now to get to the magical 300 wins.
Didn't make my club last evening Barney (some erroneous cottaging allegation pending) so was reduced to euphorically self medicating in front of my own sky+ box with the action for Worcester replayed many times...as usual multiple ride of the century contenders viewed on my enormous and well appointed flat screen.
McCoy's stats from Sporting life (yesterday's data): Season to date 118 winners from 372 rides 32% strike rate Last 14 days 20 winners from 50 rides 40% strike rate Last 7 days 14 winners from 30 rides 46% strike rate He is 21 winners ahead of his best ever season (289 at the end of the season) and remains on target for the 300
On schedule as you say Oddy but so many scuppering variables lurking around every corner. This Winters weather will be critical.Obviously the impact of a big freeze or flood are patent. Jonjo's form will also be important and fair to say the stable can be a bit in and out.JP's activity in securing new acquisitions for JO'N and the other rostered trainers will play a role as well. Days at the coal face are of paramount importance.AP will be required to ride Jezki et al in Ireland on many Sundays and other Festive occasions. This will prevent easy pickings at MR,NA etc. Perhaps the biggest threat to reaching the landmark will be injury and/or suspension. The latter is manageable but the former isn't. He still has a mountain to climb but no better man for the job.
Agreed Dex - the pull on him to ride in Ireland will be a big hinderance but he is retained by JP so there you go. Jonjo has his horses running out of their skin but they are all creeping up the weights (well, the handicappers at least). Surely he can let Barry Geraghty ride Jezki ?
