I find it hard to support England as they play boring, unattractive football and we see the same, **** names every single ****ing game who never seem to achieve anything like the sort of form that made them as famous as the players are.

The media is a complete **** up too. They change their opinion every week and the most recent one is calling Wayne Rooney an idiot because he is annoyed at how **** England were playing and lashed out at a player and got sent off. He is scouse, and he is known to have a bad temper and he never says 'I don't do stupid things anymore'.

England as an international team are just a laughing stock, we would of been the laughing stock if it wasn't for France and Italy...

Out of the teams already qualified the only teams I think we can beat with is Poland, Greece, Sweden & Denmark. That's worrying.
Also a possible outcome for our group at Euro 2012 could be Spain/Holland, England, France, Portugal

Considering our best player from the last time we got past the first round of a World Cup was a Welsh Canadian who'd spent his career to date in the Bundesliga it wouldn't be a terrible idea.

I wouldn't want Spain, Holland, Germany - but, everyone else we could beat on our day. France are no longer the team they were

So from going by that you'd rather take Lampard as a striker than Adebayor because he has more goals?

Also Man City rotate their strikers and they're still up there. Gomez & Higuain would probably be in double figures by now with Man Utd's midfield behind them

I'm not denying their ability, but Rooney is pretty sensational. People love to say how overrated he is because he is a complete and utter arsehole and is the spearhead part of a currently disliked england format. I can't stand Rooney, but he always proves doubters wrong. he put in some amazing performances last season and he'll probably go on to become not only the most capped English player but top scorer too.

He also gives 100% every game, can score all types of goals, create goals, can defend, is good in the air, can hold the ball up, class from setpieces, is a leader. Basically the perfect footballer. Don't understand the Rooney haters

It's taken him 73 games to score 28 goals. I can't see him ever reaching 50.

Yep, but it'd be a backwards step with the likes of Wilshere and Cleverley coming through, were not short of young attacking mids. What we need is a clearout of the old guard and a team built through the junior levels as Germany constantly do. Every major tournament a load of new names, no egos, always go far in the knockouts. Unfortunately player egos and the media get in the way here so it'll never happen.

I'd like to see how we'd get on against France, even with all their recent issues I think they'd still paste us. How long is it since we've beat a reasonable European side in a tournament?

No, but you said you would take Torres, Gomez, Dzeko and Van Persie instead of Rooney. I was simply pointing out that Rooney had scored more goals than Torres, Dzeko and Van Persie, and surely that is the job of the striker.

Rooney also has two assists this season compared to Torres having 1 assist, Dzeko having 1 assist and Van Persie having 0 assists.

Rooney, as we know, also tracks back and makes a few tackles here and there, and we also know he is passionate and likes to do well and lead the team. If you prefer the three strikers above over Rooney, then you are just being purposely anti-english.

Can't think lol. Agree we need a bit of a clear out. Think Ferdinand, Lampard, Barry, possibly Gerrard too. Would keep some experience like Terry, Cole too and add the likes of Wilshere, Richards too it

The main problem behind our piss poor international competitivness of recent years is the Premier League and football ideology in England in general. Not nearly enough youth coaching encouraging flair, dribbling, skills, teamwork etc. and too many teams seek foreign players to fill holes/strengthen rather than letting youth flourish. Even youth academies are now stuffed full of foreigners. The FA should allow no more than 3/4 imports in these squads in my opinion and until this changes we will get progressively worse while other nations go from strength to strength.

Haha, they are a small Russian team who are owned by really rich people. They have Samuel Eto'o in their team and pay him £400k a week. Roberto Carlos is there too

Rooney has played the same amount of games as Dzeko and Torres, and Van Persie has played one more than the three of them.
