I heard cars cost a ****ing bomb over there, is that right? I could have got you a punto for about ã8! (joke) They're ok to drive i remember, except the gearstick was long as ****. I have an Audi a4, but then i'm an old bastard, and i'm selling it soon for a 5 series touring to shift gear about in.
I don't know much about the UK, but there's pretty much no competition over here, people can charge what they like. But the petrol's loads cheaper here, some stations are about ã1.10 per litre, but it's still rising steadily.
ã1.10? ****ing hell, it's like 1999! Can't you buy from the mainland and import, stop people taking the piss, or do you get shafted for tax or summat?
I don't really know, I think the tax would have a part to play and a ferry across to England with a car is quite a bit. But insurance is really the big factor, for me it'll be about ã1000, and that's with a 1.1 litre engine.
The top speed you can go in Jersey is 40, and they want to bring that down, apparently it's dangerous!
Well, the longest road goes down the west of the island and, quite aptly, its called the 5 mile road!
