Fair enough. Originally you said that it doesn't matter who comes in. Now we appear to agree that that's not true. Note that Wolves weren't 8 points adrift at the point that McCarthy was sacked. They were only occupying the 3rd relegation spot due to goal difference and were level on points with the two teams above them. Whilst they may not have been happy with their league position or form, they still had a good chance of getting out of it. They threw that chance away when they sacked him without a decent plan B.

Welcome back GG! Your views here are very close to my own. I've never known (in over 40 years as a yellow) a run of injuries like we've had this year. It's totally disruptive and has handicapped results but few outers take any notice of that. It's all Hughton's fault! If City win against Hull they could be equal on points with the 10th place team. Is it really time to panic? Yes, we need results, but with Pilks and Tettey back from injury and JG added, let's just see how the next two or three matches go before we throw in the towell and sacrifice millions of pounds of transfer funds to replace the present management team with one of unknown effectiveness.

As for any polls, until they include more than half of City's 30,000+ fan base they are meaningless (especially when they are based on 'texts', which skews the bias even more). As for Longsight's 'it doesn't matter whether the new management team is better than the present one', IMO, that just shows the current level of hysteria going on.

I realise more and more that there is a need to communicate thoughts and ideas in a absolute and precise manner, which is why I tried to qualify my point. the confidence is shot, it is very difficult to get it back and I have illustrated this many times. Professional sports people are often wrapped up in cotton wool and the whole team surrounding them can often take away their responsibility, in short they do feck all for themselves, they don't have to think. Any change that makes them feel better leads to increased confidence, self belief, belief in others etc etc etc. Therefore new training methods trying something new, being inspired by change etc can lead to a short term improvement - not many points are required hence my comment about any change is likely to be a good change. This may be overstating the case, but in the future I will try never in million years express a point in an exaggerated manner

I understand what you meant longsight some people get fixated on a specific phrase instead of taking everything you have said into account.

We as a team need a lift and 85% of around 4000 people want CH out and that's a fact. The players need a shot in the arm to get over the line.

What do you base this 85% of 4000 fans on Kemp? If you know anything about genuine polls, none of those conducted so far would begin to qualify. There is a 'witch hunt' hysteria amongst some City fans, but until it amounts to more than half of City's 30,000+ fans in a genuine poll that isn't based on texting or facebook, it is totally unconvincing. David McNally certainly isn't convinced. Nor are the Board.

So you don't think that the vote in the EDP is indicative of what most of the fans want then? Just take a cross section of the people on here? It must be a large majority that want CH out now.

    No hysteria here, just realism.

Nor me, although it's almost impossible during or immediately after the game.

One side effect of months of Hughton in or out discussion is we should all be much better at constructing logical arguments! We are all so ready to point out the logical flaws, non-sequiturs, misleading use of statistics, exaggerations and fallacies in each other's statements that this board is starting to feel like Logic 101.

This may be overstating the case, but Oh for the days when we could just say 'Player X had a crap game' and it isn't ripped to shreds as a weak intervention in the Hughton saga.

That will only happen when the whole World and his wife STOP turning every thread into the "Hughton saga!"

The nature of polls is that the question needs to be put correctly.I don't think that you can interpret what has been said to date as meaning that the majority want Hughton out.the antis are sure to be more vocal. My guess is that at present it is not far off 50/50.just a question. If we were to take six points from our next three games and be safely mid table would that change opinions? Surely nobody expected better than that?

Pressing need is results and points now! Any action will take weeks to bed in so the big question is different! Can CH adapt, make the best use of resources and opportunities - Can he learn from mistakes for heavens sake? Without this last one we can forget the next crucial three matches

Failure to learn and develop as a manager seems the real issue that bugs me Think how O'Neil, Ferguson, Martinez, Clough, Robson and others learned from things that happened. CH has been around and ought to be improving as a manager by now - just don't see it and is this enough for him to maintain his position?

Perhaps it is because the whole world and his wife think this is the most important point.
