We are an (almost) established Premiership club with amazing facilities, the makings of a decent team if correctly deployed, a football man as chairman and an owner who has shown he will spend, not mental amounts but enough. We should be able to attract a half decent manager, its not as if we are looking for somebody to lick piss off a nettle for a living. Who that man would be though I don't know but we are not that unattractive a proposition are we, I hope not or we are Joe ****ing Kinneared.
I still feel he should be given till the end of November minimum. I dont go with the theory that sacking a manager improves the season. Sure teams usually get a purple patch just afterwards but in general if we sack him now we are accepting that our main aim for the season is to finish 10th-15th which im sure Bruce can do anyway. If we beat West Brom we will be around 10th-11th again and despite a few poor results and performances its a platform to build on. If we dont improve on last seasons finish im all for sacking him the minute the final whistle is blown on the last day of the season but feel such an early dismissal will only be detrimental to the whole club.
The fact that Bruce has spent millions over his time at 5under1and and has managed to make the team worse yet Pards has spent peanuts for us and has managed to improve us says it all about management ability. I think your squad is good enough for the top 12 but I think you will be relegated if you's don't change things and I think the biggest change that has to be made is a new manager. That was my view as a fellow football fan. However my view as a geordie is that agent bruce is doing a great job and long may it continue.
Regardless of the merits of it all, our fans have got a stinking reputation on the national stage for quickly turning on players/managers when things go wrong; if you listen to national sports stations or other managers interviews when playing us you would know this to be true...That could be one reason why some of the names being mentioned wouldn't come near us... Bruce is an established manager who is under a hell of a lot of pressure at the moment...In my opinion it would be great if our supporters gave hime some backing at times like this to prove the above theory wrong.
Plan A?? What is this "plan A" you talk of - I thought it was just "The Plan" and if that doesn't work then we're ****ed??
I think Bruce has come in for a lot of abuse which was not his fault and i have defended him.......but Monday night good god, we looked awful and devoid of ideas. Thank god we got Bendtner because he was the only person with a touch of class on Monday and it looks worse for us than i thought. West Brom has to.....and i mean HAS TO be a win, anything else and i may think a change is needed too.
