"We wanted to come here and shut up shop early on so giving away two early goals has killed us."

Disappointed to hear our gameplan from the start was try to protect a nil-nil. As if that was ever going to work against City?!?

Hopefully against the "easier" teams coming up Bruce might decide we have a chance to actually win and we could see some more attacking play?

**** me it just gets worse, now we're not even trying to win games, go play for a 0-0, no wonder the players are confused.

time for some serious questions from snq and mr short, if this is bruces gameplan something is wrong

City have some very good footballers (they also have some terrible ones) but for us to turn up there and not think we could give them a game is disgusting and to be frank shameful.

its worked for other teams this season, Birmingham, Fulham and afew others. We were just unlucky that they decided they would attack us.

and too be fair, he said shut up shop early on, just like against all the other big teams this season.

Dont try to pick words and make something seem worse than it is.

not quite sure how to take this statement, thought that was the whole idea of the game, was to attack and score goals, if we're gonna write our selves off against 6-7 teams per season, may as well stop trying to buy top players and be content with just staying up

The fact they actually tried to do it means nowt then?
SOrry mate I want better from Sunderland. Nay, I expect better the money we have spent!

Obviously the plan was too grow into the game, it might not have been the right thing to do but everyone seemed happy after the arsenal game and we could have nicked it.
