Sakho isn't happy to be sitting on the bench, consistently in and out of the team - the 'encouraging' thing is that it shows that he's desperate to play. Why was he first one to be dropped to make way for Skrtel or Lovren? I'd be p*ssed off if I was dropped for Toure? Rodgers has admitted himself that the reason we concede so many is because of individual mistakes and not coaching - so why hasn't he dropped Skrtel, the man who makes simple defensive mistakes every game? Cissokho, as useless as he was on the ball was one of our better defenders last season (again, he looks clumsy, just like Sakho, but he was actually solid and reliable). He was dropped straight away for Johnson.
I know we can only play two but the top teams have a pairing of two with either a young or old center back on bench. Arsenal have Mertersaker/Konceleny with Chambers on bench (he's has to play a lot due to injuries though) Man City have Kompany/Mangala with Demichellis on bench Barcelona will have Vermalen/Pique when fit with Mathius on bench Bayern have Benatia/Boateng with Dante on bench Liverpool on the other hand thought it be fun to have three need to play now center backs all at once and just change them when one has a bad game, it has no consistancy. Clearly Rodgers will opt for the Lovren/Skrtel partnership with Sakho and Toure on bench which I don't agree with but this way is always going to cause problems.
Would like to see Lovren - Sakho at the back. But I'd also like to see us start at least a couple of matches without Steven in the starting line up. People moan about him, but when push comes to shove they don't say drop him. And Rodgers is never going to drop him until the guy gets crippling arthritis and even then he'd probably still put him on from the start in an even more reduced role.
