The two fund collectors at Ellerslie Road were fairly, shall we say, proactive on Saturday, crossing the road to stand in peoples faces with the bucket.

I don't know. Stan must have earned well in the 1970's even though incomparable to today's wages. Is lack of funds also his problem? If I was convinced cash would help, I'd certainly shell out for him . May be someone can educate me.
