Happens quite often in France. French teams don’t take the Coup de France as seriously and as a result it opens the door up for smaller teams.
 
I think Les was in the year below me at school.
 
"Only a handful of players at the Lyon academy, for example, will make it to the first team but the others are still very good. They will get released and will bounce back in lower league clubs. So the level of lower leagues is very good in France and those clubs often end up doing well in the cup.

Maybe we should be scouting for some of these players, might be one or two gems amongst them, as long as they are not of the same mentality as Ben Arfa.
